Is it just me or does there seem to be 0 buzz for Canelo-Kovalev

It's fight week and I literally forgot the fight was this weekend..

Depending on where you live you will not see a lot of promotion for this fight. DAZN doesn't do a good job of promoting on urban /african american TV or radio.

I have seen some promo during college football last week but it was the generic DAZN commercial highlighting Canelo, AJ , Ruiz and GGG, nothing directly about Canelo/Kov fight.

I expect you will see more beginning tomorrow up through the fight.

Damn, I didn't realise it was this weekend either.

It feels like a novelty fight. Canelo taking on a shell of a boxer to get a title in another division. Kovalev was going to retire if he lost his last fight, that tells you how much he has left. No excitement there.

I told a buddy of mine from work (who is a boxing fan) that I was going to host, and he was welcome to come over. He asked when it was, and after pausing, I told him I would have to get back to him.

Then was blown away that it was THIS weekend.

Yea really feels like it snuck up on us. I havent seen any ads for it or anything up at bars near me, but maybe I've missed it. Now UFC 244 ads and signs are up EVERYWHERE

Fight was signed on short notice, not a lot of time to build a promotion.
Did see quite a few DAZN promos during Sunday football.
It’s tough when Fox and ESPN are technology competitors so they won’t go out of their way to promote the fight outside of taking $$$ for ad buys.
The Bill Simmons podcast has a promo deal with DAZN so they have talked about it and that has a far reach for sports fans.

This is true DAZN doesn't really know how to tap into the American market. They should be playing big time commercials during the WorldSeries and NFL.

They dont even have a 24/7 type of show right?
