He failed testing on the lead up to a fight...and that is a fact. I know you are a huge fan of the man. I like the guy but I am not fandoming for someone who has a failed test including Ortiz, Whyte, Benavidez, or anyone else who fails a test. And yet how many considerably poorer fighters than Canelo have popped for it? Guys who still haven’t made enough money from boxing to live in mansions and own ranches...you know those guys who eat chilaquilas at the local spots in Mexico? Juan Manuel Marquez lived in Mexico his entire career and never popped for clenbuterol and he was tested plenty...anyway that’s besides the point..you are responsible for what is in your body...haters!?!? I think that Canelo’s reputation is tainted a bit by these things you mentioned. But let’s face it, we can dig up some sort of question mark on a lot of elite fighters past and present. Just take Mayweather, for one — I am in no way arguing against the fact that the man was ELITE — but as a friend of mine once said, he was undefeated champion, not undisputed in that he avoided some of the better fighters including a mandatory in Thurman and fought easier opponents like Berto, Maidana, etc.
Still, his resume is quite impressive, and so is Canelo’s.

I liked Canelo before he tested positive and did so because he was bringing a different fight style than we typically see come out of Mexico. He was like JMM where he was more of a technician counter puncher and then he tested positive, his fans practically became intolerable in the defense of him and their attacks of any perceived threat to him. As the saying goes money and power changes people, and clearly even their fans. I enjoyed the early rematch version of Canelo but folks hold those three rounds as if that was the entire fight, I give him a world of credit for that showing though but I just can’t back any fighter who pisses or bleeds hot like that..can’t be a hypocrite like some...no matter how good or popular a guy is.
