Comments Thread For: Arum: Stevenson Reminded Me Of Left-Handed Mayweather

RENO, Nevada Shakur Stevenson brought back memories for Bob Arum as he watched Stevenson's masterful performance from a ringside seat Saturday night. The 87-year-old promoter was so impressed by Stevenson's offensive and defensive skills in his first world title fight, Arum compared the 22-year-old southpaw to one of the best boxers in the history of the sport.

Arum was way off. Mayweather would at least throw punches with bad intentions once in a while. Stevenson just avoides punches but doesn't throw clean open shots.

This was my first time ordering ESPN+. I've already canceled. I'm still upset about how boring Stevenson was.

      Stevenson IS BORING. VERY BORING!

Maybe he was referring to the striking of women trait they both share? (okay that's the last shakur dig i'll make...) There is a very slight resemblance to Mayweather in his final years...however this isn't a comparison you want to be making. These were his most boring fights and people tuned in purely to see him lose and let's not forget - Mayweather threw with spite, Stevenson throws to win rounds

Maybe the old dusty Money Mayweather, and even then that's a reach. Not prime Pretty Boy Floyd.

Stevenson is boring and i dont see him being a ticket seller. He dont remind me of floyd at all really.

Floyd fought good competition at that stage and was way more offensive and exciting.

TR cards remind me of WWF matchups. Fixed! With undeserving winners. Shame on the fix for Greer! Discusting to rob the effort from Nieves!

                  .
Who exactly was the good competition at that stage? Hector Arroyo? Angelo Nunez? Felipe Garcia? or Jesus Chavez who was 1-13-1 at the time of the fight
