He actually does seem like Pretty Boy Floyd.
Which isn't surprising because I wouldn't put it past him to have grown up watching Floyd and trying to be exactly like Floyd.
So, it makes sense why he would look like a young Floyd.
Thing is, he's not Floyd. He can try to do the things Floyd did in the ring when he beat the living daylight out of a lineal Genaro but Stevenson doesn't have that natural ability that was Floyd. Doesn't have the same power, doesn't have the same ring control. He's going through the same motions that Floyd displayed as a young fighter but Stevenson doesn't have Floyd's substance.
Seems like he also believes in his own hype a little bit already as well. Floyd as an early pro wasn't smiling and trying to look nice. He was a heat seeking missile that just happen to look nice while dismantling opponents like 33-0 Corrales.
Stevenson will probably become highly rated. Even Gamboa, Broner, and Gervonte got highly rated at one point in time. So, Stevenson mimicking Floyd will get him pretty far. Until he has to show substance that I think he just doesn't have. Not naturally.
