current Canelo beats Ward in Vegas.

    if you disagree, YDKSAB

Canelo should've called out Ward. Easiest W of his career.

Keep in mind, in a fight with Canelo. Ward automatically becomes the b-side.

meaning Ward can't use excessive clinching, headbutting, nut shots, nor single leg take-downs.

Even if Ward were to knock Canelo down and wash him 9/12 rounds, he would still lose on the cards like Ward/Kovalev 1.

We know for a fact Ward isn't knocking Canelo down. SO Ward is losing. Period.

I wonder if Kovalev considered diving for a bigger bag of cash to keep Canelo's legacy afloat. At this age this fight only matters to him in terms of money because no credit will be given to him if he beats the smaller guy so... It's a lose-lose to Kovalev and win-win for Canelo.

Still hoping for a good fight though

I’m inclined to agree. Just stylistically speaking this has potential to be a violent fight with Canelo’s skillset. Ward-Kova 1 wasnt a particularly savage affair and kova was quite clearly (imo) the winner of a good boxing match. The second fight he feels wronged...and against Alvarez he wasnt doing too “bad” i guess? Lol.

But taking his age and the stage of his career, Canelo is debatably (a good debate at that) either the best or second best fighter he’a fighting in his whole career and doing it at his oldest yet. Kovalev does NOT want to lose to a man climbing two weight classes and who beat GGG, who Kovalev was alleged afraid of. I think there’s a lot of pressure for Kovalev here. It doesnt mean Canwlo beats Ward though. But p4p who knows. Canelo seems to have more tools but Ward was first and foremost an excellent strategist.

Anyone who thinks Kov is washed up or a true underdog imho isn't a student of the game that studies the punch stats & other intangibles. I created a thread where I go over all this if anyone is interested I basically prove why the odds are way off on this fight & kov is among the best bargains in betting of anyone in recent memory. I think its due to the nelo haters being the most vocal while lying to themselves because they aren't very knowledgeable about boxing.

It's funny that Nelos biggest haters are also the ones who hype him the most & hold him to the absolute highest standards to the pt where him moving up vs a much bigger, career lhw with the most power is somehow seen as a guaranteed win .

I am not saying that its not a calculated risk,(how ****** would it be if it was someone Nelo thought he couldn't beat), I'm saying that Nelo knows hes facing among the most dangerous punchers that has a great chance at beating him or battering him even(& im a big fan but not blind enough to think its a sure win or that theres any chance Nelo batters or schools kov)

Nelo has been in way more wars & fights & rds than Kovalev. Hes faced 3 power punchers in last 4 fights & in ggg the most hyped ko artist to that pt that had like 96% kos,Jacobs had mostly kos also.(both put some miles on nelo)

Aside from E.Alvarez who kov was beating beforehand, kov has never really taken much punishment his entire career full of fights he won by ko quickly,he had never been in dogfights where he took near the damage Gvoz did vs Beterbieve,& Nelo has taken way more punishment over his career vs much smaller lighter punchers than kov. Imho its insane that kovs not the favorite for that alone

Yeah "in Vegas" are the key words there, cause that's where the corruption is, in Canelos favor. Outside of Vegas, Ward takes him apart.

Only a small % of Nelo fans believe that.

hmn...i dunno. alvarez keeps getting better, but he was outboxed and outpunched by golovkin the first time. i know that kov won the first ward fight, but if he fought him 10 more times hed lose all ten times, as good a boxer as he is...hmn...nope. kov has a much better chance of outboxing alvarez, as slippery and as good at slippin punches alvarez is, kovalev is still a master boxer. if he fought a fit ward now, he wouldnt win. no frickin way. i think he can beat alvarez. he may lose to the judges, but i think he can beat alvarez.

that's like saying Kovalev knocks Ward out in Russia.

Ward will never fight in Russia.

Canelo would never fight Ward outside of Vegas with the judges and ref in his pocket.

Turn the tables on Ward and he's done. He is 1 handed and he needs fouling tactics to contain his opponents.
