  • Comments Thread For: Prograis: I Don't Feel I Must KO Taylor; Won't Get Robbed

Regis Prograis is certain he is capable of knocking out Josh Taylor. Even if Taylor withstands his power, Prograis is confident he can win a decision against the Scottish southpaw in what essentially is a fight in Taylor's backyard. O2 Arena in London is the venue for their 140-pound title unification fight Saturday night.

Higher level fights in people's backyards lately have had pretty fair judging so I hope this follows suit.

I don't foresee any issues with the cards in this one. If it was truly on Taylor's home turf in Glasgow, the noise of the crowd might influence judges but a London crowd won't be quite as partisan.
We're quite a tribal lot in the UK for a country with a relatively small landmass - highlighted by the fact we are a "unity" of 4 nations where England loves to lord it over Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland who in turn love nothing better than to get one over on England. Add in to that the North-South divide and favouritism of London in England, and it's no wonder our politicians cant even agree on the state of the weather while looking out of the same window.

You know the fix is on if there’s a harsh scorecard on a matchroom fighter before the main event. So if Okolie gets robbed it’s just a smokescreen for the real fix later.

Having said that. Taylor isn’t a matchroom fighter yet and as a Scot, lots of English will be waiting for him to either win and be British or lose and be Scottish

There was a eerie confidence in the 'Tart-Tomato' in the last presser -- a sudden change from the fear I sensed in Taylor from the media workout. Regis Pro has been ill advised from the moment he agreed to defend the WBA in the UK with a approved official by the BBBofC to oversee this unification in the finals of the jr. welterweight WBSS.

Someone talk some sense to Regis before they rob him!

Prograis dont box well and always timing a KO like a smaller version of Tyson. If Taylor box well, uses smart move with his long reach advantage and dont necessary mix it up then he can easily pull a close UD...

Taylor is quite the bully. He’ll most likely be getting bullied come fight night, hopefully it ends in a stoppage. London is “neutral” but it’s still closer to Glasgow than NOLA, don’t want home cooking to spoil a great scrap

Box well and it will not matter. Be aggressive, be varied in the offense, be smart in the defense. If you get 2 out of 3 of those right in the majority of the rounds, judges usually reward the correct fighter.

                  Usually.

Prograis is good enough to not use judging as an excuse if Taylor wins. It will be because he allowed Taylor to dictate things.

I wish the 'Tarto-Tomato' had the same courage when he coward from Derek Chisora. You said it, Josh Taylor is a BULLY ; Regis Pro will give him the beating Taylor has been needing.
