The odds are about right, this is not a great fight between two fighters in their prime.

Obviously the 3rd fight with Golovkin would have been a better fight with closer odds...though judging by Golovkin's last fight, the time on that one may have expired also.
Forget the odds for a minute...how is a 3rd fight with ggg who already lost to canelo and arguably lost his last fight and is older than Kovalev better? Kovalev who avenged his loss to a top dog and just koed a true undefeated light heavyweight contender younger than canelo...c'mon get real.

Many, if not most, don't think Golovkin lost the second fight and nearly everyone thinks Golovkin won the first. At best Canelo is looking at, so far as popular opinion goes, is being 1-1 with Golovkin...that would be how.

Well first don't say "many" or "most" because that is uncertain especially in regard to the 2nd fight. Because most "boxing writers" had ggg but most boxers and trainers had canelo. The people in general, you can say one thing someone else can say something else. Now not going by what other people say regardless of opinion can you refute my original post to you?

So we are ignoring popular opinion and the odds also?

I guess we are also ignoring Kovalev being stopped twice recently?
Are we ignoring that Kovalev appears to have problems with alcohol and seems to be somewhat older than his calendar age?

Well, if we are ignoring all that, I guess I got nothing. Carry on...

I just told you popular opinion is uncertain many people think canelo won the 2nd fight including most fighters and trainers. So lets say for the sake of argument they went 1-1. Did ggg not lose once to canelo already? Do many people (most? Impossible to know) think ggg lost to Derevyanchenko in his last fight? Is ggg not older than Kovalev? Did Kovalev avenge his loss top a top fighter at 175? Did Kovalev ko an undefeated 175 contender younger than canelo? Those are facts about Kovalev not speculation...don't go by what you read or others say, analyze things yourself.

I have and my first post is my honest assessment.
The fight with Kovalev is a good fight, a 3rd fight with Golovkin is a better fight.

He's younger than him but has nowhere near the experience on any level and Kovalev still almost got knocked out by him. Age isn't just calender.

I know Kov isn’t the top 175 guy but it’s still a risky fight. To ask Canelo to jump in with the best in his first fight at the weight is crazy.

But Yarde is a true light heavyweight with a power punch, canelo is not either of those two.

Agreed. A 6 month suspension is a slap on the wrist.
