More politics from the WBC, they are basically making the 'franchise' champion the highest form of champion, similar to the WBA 'super' champion. Like somebody on a previous page said, the regular WBC 'champion' is now meaningless and not a real title, like the WBA 'regular' champion. More money for the WBC.

Lmao at all the hypocrite loma nuthuggers/nelo haters exposing their hypocrisy (especially boxing writers who were claiming to be outraged by nelo being franchise champ but now aren't saying anything against loma,even though when canelo was given that status it was because he had actually beaten the top 2 elite fighters at mw & he was trying to become champ at 3 divisions concurrently while also having already signed a 35 mil per fight deal that made titles meaningless,so there was some supposed reasoning behind it(even if it was still complete bs reasoning) but with loma,none of those things apply & he actually plans on moving down in weight rather than facing Haney & he had just been given a vacant wbc belt despite being a rival orgs champ, again that differs from nelo who is lineal wbc champ.

I like Canelo and Loma but it is all BS and it potentially BLOCK good match ups. To the people who bash Canelo and Loma for being Elevated (which was not even their f#cking choice), now if/when Wilder is Elevated don't defend it either. Also b#tch and complain when that happens to!

Honestly, the better fix would be them actually making guys EARN title shots and making Contenders all fight each other to determine the REAL #1 Contender instead of Auctioning off Rankings to the Highest Bidder. Does the WBC even have a basis for franchise champion? What are the rules for it? If I'm Haney, I'm already recognized as a champ, I see no reason to pay sanctioning fees and I move on to the IBF. He has a world championship to his name, now it's time to become a REAL mandatory. Also, why would anyone bother to climb up WBC rankings after this?

The reason I think you're wrong is because fighters like to have their cake & eat it too. They will say otherwise but secretly be happy to get a free 1st belt that gaurantees them champ status & also tons of exposure due to the controversy created hype that follows.
