It keeps his status. It's basically like the WBA super champion stuff. He just can't lose the status even if he lost a fight which is bizarre. So, as long as he doesn't lose between now and Lopez-Commey it's undisputed.

The WBC are arguably worse than the WBA. Both need to go away.

I think Loma vacates the title for the honorary Franchise Champ status which is not a title. But I could be wrong.
