Pretty sure it was Rigo that turned down the fight in the lower weight classes orignally and if you watched the fight Loma outclassed him, weight difference isn't what won that fight.

What is there to be angry about. The champ asked to be made franchise champ so he didn't have to fight his mando. Now Haney will forever be known as champ and get paid as champ for as long as he has the strap.

What you should be angry about is Arum paying off the WBC to avoid a fight that we all wanted to see.

Exactly. but its d4thincarnation. he is one of the guys that likes Loma for agenda driven purposes, not his talent and skill. He somehow finds fault with Haney after Bob and Loma ask to be emeritus champ.

2 days ago he spent 5 hours arguing that Loma wants to have a 4 belts and was more concerned with legacy than anything else. Then this happens. Just goes to show you Loma is no different than anyone else-wants the money and to avoid risky fights until after the big paydays.

So yeah, this makes it clear. When a name guy with a big promoter has a WBC title, and his mandatory also has a big promoter thats aligned with another network, they're going do this bull**** where they essentially strip the champ, make the mandatory the champ, but the stripped champ still gets to say he's the champ and pay sanctioning fees but no longer has mandatory obligations.

The WBC just making new stuff up as they go along. Here's a novel idea, how about the champion actually fight the deserved mandatory? That means Loma vs Haney and Canelo vs Charlo.
