So can someone tell me why is this guy struggling so bad and looking terrible vs Luke Campbell & Pedraza.
Going life and death with Linares?

Are they supposed to be great fighters or something? I see nothing but a bunch of guys who have lost in extremely bad fashion everytime they have stepped up. All 12-13-14 times combined.

Like being brutally honest they ain't true world class fighters and that includes Linares who hasn't beaten anybody even B level in his entire paper title belt collecting career.

Fighting two weight classes above his natural weight and fighting against his natural style to be more entertaining and fan friendly.

Still winning all these fights easily.

Don't let the ******ity of NSB drive how you assess fighters and fights.
but but keep that logic confined within the walls of this topic in this thread. Its about calling Lomachenko great p4p but hes struggling against guys other fighters have BLOWN out in better fashion, why arent those other guys called great and considered great?

Pound for pound is just opinion not often provable. It is how good you think a boxer is right now for his weight class based on recent fights. Every boxing fan has his own top 10 pfp best list. If you don't think Loma is pfp number 1 then put him where ever you think he belongs and others will put him where they think he belongs. I don't rate him as number 1 pfp. Top 5 maybe. But lots of people rate him number 1 not on any one win but many very good wins.

I hate rating any fighter #1 unless the fighter is so spectacular for such a long period of time. Just being in the 10 PFP is a great place for any fighter to find themselves and Lom is in that elite place. Like you said, PFP#1 (or any arrangement of the top 10 PFP fighters) isn't really provable, no way to throw numbers into a computer and have it pick the top 10.

Luke Campbell's an Olympic gold medalist, so it's not like he's some bum. He also had significant height and reach advantages over Loma, as well as decent power. The Luke Campbell that showed up that night would've given anybody hell at 135.

Loma didn't struggle with Pedraza as much as you think. Yes, his longer reach and jab made him uncomfortable, but he frequently went around that jab and caught Pedraza with clean power shots. He also nearly got him outta there in the 11th round.

Loma was outboxing Linares in competitive rounds, before Linares landed the well-timed right hand that dropped him. He then went on to knock him out a few rounds later. Mind you, Linares was the #1 lightweight at the time, and his first opponent in the division. Pretty much anyone who knew anything about boxing understood that despite his knockout losses, Linares was still a very credible opponent.

Before facing Lomachenko, Campbell lost once against Linares, in a close fight. There's no shame in that. Pedraza's one other loss was against Gervonta Davis, who's very talented and has star potential. Linares held the WBA and WBC straps at 135 at one point. If he wasn't a true world class lightweight, then who was?
