Veteran strength and conditioning coach Angel "Memo" Alvarez doesn't have any skin in the game when Canelo Alvarez moves up two weight classes on November 2nd to take on WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev.

Angel "Memo" Alvarez huh? I'm assuming this is just your standard 'Scene editorial snafu, but it's quite an amusing one, specially when followed up with no '...skin in the game'.

Wonder if Saul and Memo are related in some way...

You don't remember Mikey vs Spence?

It's a good move (especially in the PR stakes) and he's to be commended because it is still a risky fight despite Kovalev's age, but then Saul's in the enviable position of not really having to worry ever again about his future wealth or career earnings or ability to get future fights. He can quite literally afford - in every sense - to take risks which most fighters might shy away from. That isn't to take away from what he's doing, because he could have just stuck at 160 / 168 fighting whoever he chose for decent money, but nor is it reasonable to compare him to most fighters whose paydays and saleablity might plummet if they take an L, particularly a bad one.

a 29 year old 4-1 favorite is making the riskiest move by an A sider that you can remember by facing a 36 yr old who is 4-3 in his last 7 fights? Have you only been watching boxing for 6 months?

                "Kovalev punches like a mule."

I might take those 4-1 odds.

Done that. Canelo is the favourite but the odds are ridiculous, I see it as a 60/40 fight (without corruption it would be 50/50).

Yarde told Tunde something similar apparently. But Pascal fought Kovalev years ago, and Yarde fought recent Kov but has no top level experience to compare it to, so both are not necessarily accurate sources at this stage. And Kovalev on short rest may not be the same Kovalev that Yarde fought, let alone Pascal fought.
