For Suliaman the spectre of semi-pro boxing such as the WSB represents an almost existential threat. My guess is he wants to nip that ish in the bud before people get any ideas. The sanctioning orgs would be fucked if ABA start messing around allowing pro-Boxers into an international system of proper rankings and regular paid tourneys instead of the privilege and favourism that currently drives the money making machine of pro-boxing.
For sure the ammys has been riddled with problems of it's own (which the influencers of the pro boxing world have been very keen to highlight as if their own house is in order), but it's still far, far better than the fractured, nepotistic bullchit of the pro-sport when it comes to making sure the right fights get made in a timely manner.
