LMAO. Apart from fast hands and perhaps head movement, what else is Ruiz above average at?

The guy doesn’t even have much power, apart from volume. He was just lucky a perfect shot hit someone who was already concussed pre-fight in the temple. Now he’s a world beater, lol. The same boxer was in the ring with a guy that was done and out on his feet for 3 rds and couldn’t win decisively until the ref stopped it. Heck, AJ won at least one of those rds.

Ruiz doesn’t move his feet and the only way he closes range is with his hand speed. Any boxer who can manipulate range would beat him easily.

He’ll probably beat Wilder due to his chin. Wilder has no boxing skills and he’s going to be head hunting and that would play perfectly into Ruiz’s counter left hooks which Wilder is susceptible to. I don’t know about Fury. The height/reach and Fury’s rangy awkwardness would be a nightmare for him. But Fury is always open to counter left hooks and the two guys that knocked him down, apart from Wilder are short guys with quick hands. And Fury also struggles with fat pressure fighters. So it depends on the night to be honest.

But I think Hunter, Rivas, and Whyte should beat him pretty easily. AJ will stop him in the rematch as well

Bit of a ****** question tbh mate.
Yeah because asking does one boxer has the ability to defeat other boxers in his division and visa versa on a boxing message forum is ******...no doubt.

        I respect that.

I like Andy Ruiz but as I said he has one credible win in his career. Aside from AJ, what’s his best win? Dimitrenko? Liakovich?
I'm not saying Ruiz is a world beater or not, I'm just gathering my fellow posters opinions on the matter because every boxer must be allowed to fight the best in order to have their "best win"...that why they fight the fights.

I think Ruiz would have tough fights against most at the top end of the division.

He's going to be fighting against height and reach almost every time. So no easy fights.

At the same time he's proven he can take a shot, and can counter at speed. So he's always dangerous.

I'd make him one of the few fighters who'd be 50/50 against most of the top 10. I'd include Fury in that - I think he'd give him one hell of a fight swarming over him every time Fury gets a shot off.

            Ruiz qualities:

            Fast hands release
            Great counter puncher
            Closes the distances well
            Good head movement.

Based on the fighters today, is there any heavyweight today that can beat Ruiz..

            Ortiz
            Dubois
            Joyce
            Miller
            Kownacki
            Usyk
            Whyte
Hunter (who beat him twice in the amateur)
Parker (who beat in once in the pros)
            Hrgovic
            Rivas
            Ajagba

Can any on these guys I listed or any names that I forgot beat Andres Ruiz?
            Tyson "Wilders papa" Fury.

            Faster hands
            Better counter puncher
            Closes the distance even better
            Better head movement

So do cats like Ortiz and Wilder is a 50/50 fight. Usyk is also a 50/50 fight for me right now.

No one in any era can really be favored over Fury.

I just didn’t think the question needed to be asked because there’s multiple guys who probably beat him. It’d be like saying who beats Danny Garcia at welterweight? It’s your thread though so fair enough.

I do like Ruiz though, I don’t wanna sound like I’m hating on the guy. He’s a decent fighter but he has his limitations. I doubt he wins the rematch against AJ but if he does, the obvious fight to make would be Ruiz vs the Fury-Wilder rematch. I actually hope he does beat AJ again cause we all know AJ ain’t gonna fight Wilder or Fury anytime soon.

Almost everyone with stamina can beat everyone in HW.

I'm not a fan of Ruiz but you guys are really underestimating him. He has the fastest hands at heavyweight and he's accurate with good power. He also knows how to fight very well. He'll be tough for any of the top heavyweights.

Reading through the comments, I think the title is quite misleading. Maybe it should read "The list of fighters who can beat ruiz" The title suggests he is without doubt #1 and it's asking if anyone can physically beat him.

However to answer your question, I think the list is quite large based on the Ruiz who fought AJ. Ruiz is low volume and with the exception of AJ, hasn't really shown world class power at any point. However if he can boost his cardio and punch output / stamina a little, while maintaining great accuracy - he could be quite difficult for anyone but the top 2 to beat really. Even Wilder would struggle because Ruiz is probably going to sit on his chest and negate the long reach Wilder needs to throw the right hand

Ruiz seems to have fast hands, second only to Wilder. He closes the distance quicker than anyone also except Wilder.

                      Perhaps best combinations at HW.

You have to wonder how much better and faster he would be if he lost 40 pounds slowly. No time for that now.

His "loss" to Parker was indeed a robbery. In rematch, he'd KO him and not take chance with the usual crooked judges and ref.

Pick, if judges and ref fair, Ruiz has the edge for me for either KO or decision if Josh runs. In reality, prediction: see last para.
