Was it hell a fixed fight. Andy Ruiz beat Joshua fair and square. You aint guna build AJ up as much as they have to have him lose in the hope of making more money down the line. Ridiculous to think that.
Was Joshua Ruiz 1 a fixed fight?

You have to make it look like an upset to make the rematch huge.
Am not saying its a fix but I won't be surprised either if it is.
These guys are making much more than expected and the conventional ppv price has been increased.

I know u and I fight a lot on here, but u said it. The financial model makes no sense on AJs end, especially with the Wilder fight looming and Floyd proving being undefeated is worth the most in boxing. Even if someone could blackmail AJ to lose, it would have to be more personal, because a healthy wealthy AJ means payoffs for life. People also get snuffed out for peanuts compared to what this heist woulda been worth.Comment

It's hard to look at any single fight and say for sure it was fixed. But over the last 10 years you can be 100% that some were.
AJ v Ruiz? I wouldn't put it in that category. But I do think team AJ was happy enough to take a tough fight on short notice (people forget it was short notice for AJ to prepare specifically for Ruiz too). I think they were comfortable enough to take it easy, knowing that the worst case scenario was a big money rematch. Does that count as a fix?
And what played out was pretty much the worst case scenario. And has AJ suffered? Not a bit. From not being able to get a big fight, he's now in the fight of the year against a guy ranked in the top few. And if he wins he's got another big name on his resume.
Ruiz wasn't a top ranked fighter before - Team AJ created that situation by picking him. So... maybe?Comment

I don’t think fixed....just under prepared for Ruiz who he thought would be easy and mentally not right to fight through fire when Ruiz showed he was up for it ....and he was concussed and you rarely recover from that in a fight.
We will see what Joshua does in the rematch against RuizComment
