bread also said that if Canelo beats (36 yr old) Kovalev, he should win fighter of the decade and used his win over (36 yr old) Cotto and (36 yr old ggg) as examples as to why. That kind of has to conflict with your belief that he's a Canelo hater.

Cotto was ranked P4P #9 at the time and was the man who beat the man-gimp. I’ll be honest I took Sergio but once saw him gimping I knew I was ***ED!

GGG was P4P#1-3 both times. And Canelo fought him his 3rd fight at MW.

Kov. Is a current Legit LHW ranked by MOST top #3 and Boxingrec P4P top #18.

Floyd retired in 2015 and his best wins are PAC, Maidana, Canelo, Cotto. Not bad


Ward retired for a few years best wins should be 1-1 Kov. But moved up and fought him 2-3 fight at LHW. Froch, Dawson, Abraham. Not bad but really inactive.

Yeah i know. The JRock win was a good win for Charlo but that still doesn't put him up there as one of the best punchers in boxing..

I hear ya and I would take GGG by TKO. Charlo style perfect for GGG. We ALL know GGG got an ATG chin. Charlo thin long jaw structure looks like its breakable.

Showtime/CBS own this website boxingscene.com and Showtime/CBS are affiliated w/ PBC.

That is why 90% of news here is about PBC fighters always has those guys in a positive spotlight.

Charlo is an okay MW, but his power did NOTHING against Korobov who is NOBODY.

Breadman rates Charlo highly bc he lost to him w/ J-Rock. That's literally the only reason.

It's also why "Breadman" always brings up J-Rock v Hurd as some ATG fight. It wasnt. Fun fight, but Bread just self promoting.

He dont ever self promote about the Charlo KO loss though and he boasts about J-Rock requiring USADA drug testing for all future opponents...in other words - Bread is making excuses for losing to Charlo who is an average MW. One wouldnt know that because Bread makes it sound like Charlo is Top 10 ATG and was definitely on highest grade anabolic steroids when he fought J-Rock

In reality Bread was outcoached and didnt properly train his fighter. And Charlo is not all that..neither is J-Rock

Good to see this column again. Lots of good perspectives from the author and the fans comments alike. Always interesting to see how everyone THINKS things through on these issues.

As for Ortiz/Wilder, you're probably pretty solid on your prediction, and yes there is a chance Ortiz can win it if he does his homework. Even on a bad night, he does seem to think and react pretty fast throughout his fights. But yes, you make a good point on Wilder's 1-2 after a break.

This will be one of my top 3 most anticipated fights this fall.

I think Julian Williams win over and performance over Hurd is one of the best of the last decade. It was beautifully violent in every aspect. Can I get your top 10 wins from 2010-19? I know you don’t like talking about Jrock in the mailbags but I’m curious on this matter.

Bread’s Response: I think Jrock’s win was one of the best in the division since 2010.

He goes on to compare J-Rock over Hurd in the SAME LEAGUE as:

• Floyd over Canelo
• JMM Pac 4
• Canelo over GGG
• Ward over Kovalev
• Rigo over Donaire

The wins I stated stand out to me historically. But Jrock over Hurd is hovering somewhere after those.

Be serious. Good win, but neither fighter is remotely accomplished to ANY of Cotto, Sergio, JMM, Floyd, Manny, Ward, Kovalev, Rigo, Donaire, etc.

Those are ATGs. Neither J-Rock or Hurd are even good champions today (yet).
