Thats back in the day though. boxing purses for the main events have exploded in the PBC and DAZN era.
HBO/Showtime/ESPN didnt pay like that back in the mid 2000s. They paid for shows themselves, they wanted to make a profit.
PBC and DAZN are blowing investor money like crazy, I dont get how they managed to talk people into investing in them but they are losing money, overpaying the top fighters.Comment

Both of the Klitschko brothers wanted to fight him, but they said he priced himself out because he knew either of them would end his career, so he wanted a huge payday to take with him into retirement. Valuev eventually retired due to back issues.
I would've been interested to see either of the Klitschko brothers fight Valeuv, since he was the tallest and heaviest world champion boxer of all time. Fury's height and reach gave Wlad problems, and Valeuv had the same reach (85 in) but was 3 inches taller than Fury. I think both Klitschkos would've beaten, and probably would've stopped Valeuv. Valeuv only had 2 losses, close decisions to Haye and Chagaev, but he also had trouble with a past his prime Holyfield.
It would have been an interesting matchup, so sure I would have wanted to see it but Wlad would not have been 39 years old like he was vs Fury.Comment

He's the missing link between modern day man and past neanderthals. He was what we were before our recent look and size. He's a real life nephilim. His head is 3 feet wide.Comment
