Championship boxing needs to go to 6 round fights

I make the argument for 8 Round for Non-Championship Bouts and 10 for Championship Bouts
I don't expect fans to agree with it but then again we're not the ones fighting and taking punishment now are we! I would much rather reduce rounds then to have boxing BANNED! Less Rounds= More Exciting Fights IMO with fighters fighting with More Urgency because you don't have to try and preserve Stamina for Later Rounds they can go all out for 8 Rounds
This forum full of Ignorance so it is waste of time trying to be logical on here. Do this, go to local boxing gym and you get in that ring and see how LONG a 3 Minute Round is in boxing. It is literally the longest 3 Minutes of your life!Last edited by sicko; 10-17-2019, 03:06 PM.Comment

I agree boxing needs to be less rounds. Ive heard that argument that boxing is too long from other combat sports fans forever, but only recently given it much serious thought cuz Ive always just felt that boxing is x rounds. Thing is boxing hasnt always been 12 rounds. Boxing used to be til a mfer couldnt go on. Believe it was for 25 rounds for awhile. It was 15 rounds til the 80s. Its been 12 rounds since. Its not crazy to think we still havent gotten the time of a fight correct.
And then when you go look at ring deaths & severe injuries like I have you will notice that boxing has a very high % of bad things going down in the 9th & later rounds. The last few rounds seen even more risky. Now go look at other combat sports that arent fighting for 36 minutes. They are fighting for 9 minutes, for 18 minutes, most MMA fights which are deemed by most folks as more dangerous & bloody than boxing is 15 to 25 minutes. And none of these other combats styles with less rounds got the amount of deaths & severe injuries as boxing does. Thats showing us something we keep not listening to as guys die in this game. That needs to be changed. The main debate isnt should it be changed its what it should be changed to. 15 minute fights like most MMA fights. 20 minutes, 25. Idk man thats the debate.Comment

Agreed...
It’s the nature of the beast unfortunately. Tragedies like these don’t happen often but will ostensibly always happen at some point.Comment

Combat games are also more dangerous cuz its just 1 on 1 in there. There are no timeouts to be called. You cant go easy when you got another teammate or 10 to go a lil harder for a down til you get your breath. I believe this is one of the main reasons combat games are much more dangerous when things go right. I mean usually when someone dies in football or other games its during training or when things go wrong in a game. In boxing you die in a game when things go right. Thats a mfing issue folks dont wanna acknowledge. They say its a part of the game. Thats f#cking psycho sh^t to think like that. You dont NEED to die in boxing.
Boxing needs to make itself safer so dummies dont think dying is how you do the game of boxing. Its not THAT mfing serious & it shouldnt be accepted & I dont think it will be forever. Ive theorized before I think boxing reaches a golden age when its safer & ANYONE can do it cuz you do it from the safety of a VR safety net of sorts & I think thatll be a reality cuz everyone loves fighting but the risks to be a fighter are too great for most mfers today & its even being too great a risk for many cats in the game today who are in it cuz this doesnt need to go down at all eventually, but it doesnt need to be going down as much as it is now & as other combat games show us.Comment

Can’t help but think there’s nothing that can be done.
At top level boxing I’d probably would introduce IV fluids post weigh in. With functioning kidneys these folks should be able to rehydrate but they push it to the limits so I say give em all the help they can get.
Other than that. How do you stop late stoppages?Comment

How about one two-minute round? Imagine the intensity!
Good luck getting anybody to pay for it, doe.Comment
