GGG is fighting for paydays at this point. He has whatever accolades he could earn, to the best of his ability. I believe he's salty he couldn't clearly dominate canelo. He though he was going to expose a smaller fighter and it backfired twice, now canelo is making him look worse by moving up. Something GGG refused to do (but has agreed to move down) hurting his claim as an all time great.

      ... Of course...

... as if, meanwhile, Canelo isn't fighting for the paydays... WTF?

Correction, the first one wasn't even close. GGG completely owned him.

Canelo should move on from ggg as there are greater (and much younger) challenges available. But where he's mistaken is in thinking that he ever proved any sort of clarity in his rival vs ggg. What real boxing fans will remember is that he got a gift draw in the first fight and won a close decision in the 2nd that could of gone either way. At 28 yrs old, he was never able to prove he was superior to a 36 yr old fighter who he and his fans have always referred to as a limited hype job.

            It's probably Alvarez's mistake to avoid a 3rd fight.
Right now the rivalry stands about even with neither fighter dominanting the 2 previous fights.
Golovkin looked vulnerable in his last fight and Canelo could possibly beat GGG decisively.
A dominant win or a KO of a fighter some consider to be the top MW of his era would add more to his legacy than a win over Kovalev.
Avoiding the 3rd fight shows Canelo still considers Golovkin a threat.

Golovkin is no longer a threat to elite level fighters and has not been since the last Canelo fight. GGG had a good run, remarkable even, but he lacked the fire in the belly to pursue greatness. He relied too much on fighting second-tier to preserve his knockout streak. He is now fighting third-tier level competition at every opportunity. These are mistakes will tarnish his legacy.

GGG never came close to KOing or even seriously hurting Canelo in two fights. If someone is getting KO'd in a 3rd fight, we all sure as **** know it won't be Canelo.

I agree, but Canelo may also assume that he still wouldn't get credit for a decisive win given GGG's age and recent performances.

Clenelo got a gift decision TWICE and don’t want no more smoke from GGG. Its that simple...
