Comments Thread For: Duva: Kovalev Must Dominate In Front Of Pro-Canelo Crowd

Sergey Kovalev suffered a controversial loss to Andre Ward the last time one of Kovalev's fights went the distance in Las Vegas. Conversely, Canelo Alvarez has won closely contested, 12-round fights against Erislandy Lara and Gennadiy Golovkin, and secured a controversial draw with Golovkin in Las Vegas in recent years. One judge, CJ Ross, even gave Alvarez a draw when he clearly lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr. six years ago in "The Fight Capital of the World."

Every opponent Clenelo has has to win by KO. That is obvious since forever.

if you don't knock ginger out, you're not getting a decision, Clenelo is right now, the poster boy for corruption in boxing.

Every great champion has had those fights where it could have gone either way, or they lost on the cards and should have won. Mayweather had Castillo and Maidana, Pac had Marquez x 3 and Bradley, Canelo has had GGG, Lara and maybe Cotto, SRL had Hearns and Hagler..., De La Hoya had Trinidad, Mosely and Sturm, Ward had Kovalev...and the list goes on

It's not just Canelo, it happened to all of them...check the stats...I guess you could say there was corruption in all of them

You forgot the count if Canelo goes down: 1 Mississippi, Washington, Antananarivo, 2....then doctor needs to get into the ring, put on gloves, check if Canelo is ok and then they continue the fight

I doubt it was as much corruption for all of them as it was human nature to lean with the crowd favorite (or house favorite). Studies have shown that is the biggest impact in home field advantage in other sports, and I am sure it plays a part for judges in boxing (whether they intend to or not).

Not saying there isn't corruption, just that not every bad card in favor of the money fighter is corruption.

Canelo in all likelihood will be too good to get completely blown out if it goes 12 rounds...there will be close rounds and the A side can/will get his share.

It's old school for the most part with Canelo...you gotta KO him to win...he makes everyone in boxing money, and if he had 10 losses no one would watch him fight and there goes the money for everyone.

To beat the A-side in the sport you have to leave no doubt...I am looking forward to the fight though...no clue if Kov will dominate Canelo or if Canelo can hurt him to the body...should be evident early what the deal will be...then again Kov could start hot and fade late...intriguing fight for sure.

I’ve never seen soo many pathetic excuse makers in one spot like this???

A LHW Champ should NEVER expect to go 12 rounds with a MW that’s just common sense 101. The only time a MW should go 12 rounds with a guy two weight classes higher is if he’s fighting to just survive like Miley Garcia did...

What a bunch of losers making excuses up before a fight even happens??? Usually the excuses come AFTER the game.
