  • Comments Thread For: Witherspoon: I Was Never Hurt By Usyk; More Tired Than Anything

Chazz Witherspoon wasn't criticizing Oleksandr Usyk. The veteran heavyweight was just being honest when he was asked about Usyk's power now that the former undisputed cruiserweight champion has ventured into that division. Despite that he lost by technical knockout to Usyk on Saturday night in Chicago, Witherspoon never felt truly hurt in any of the seven rounds in which they went at it.

What is this **** at the beginning of the article about Witherspoon not criticizing but just being honest. You don't know what's in the guys head or his motives for saying what he said. Just report the ****ing facts and that is what he said. You might have an inkling or a personal opinion as to why he said it but don't state it as fact.

Usyk doesn’t necessarily KO you, his work rate overwhelms you and he would stop you or corner/ref stops it later. Am glad to see Usyk at HW, one that can throw a good number of punches without grasping for breathe after 5 rounds.

It's no secret that Usyk is not a huge puncher.

THEY say Usyk is going to dance them, hypnotize them, out work them, out think them, everything, but hurt them. I'll watch, but I saw Mikey vs Spence. Still I commend his heart and skill.

He's a skillfully fighter but he isn't known for knocking people out.

He was never meant to win this. Last minute replacement, out of shape, never a top guy. I think Usyk did himself a disservice by not making a statement against this guy because all we're hearing about today is Usyk has no power. Not a good look in your first hw fight.

Still, I hope the best for Usyk in this div.

                    Witherspoon:

“But still, my hat’s off to him. I’m not trying to take nothing away from his win.”

It sounds like Witherspoon said he’s not trying to criticize Usyk, doesn’t it?
