Come on let's be honest here.....he lost in embarrassing fashion. The headline should read "Wealthy man wants to redeem himself for losing to fat man". Or at least "Joshua hungrier than Ruiz. Wants a Snickers bar"Comment

Joshua fans are hopeful that this situation will turn out similar to Lewis who avenged his defeats and came back stronger. The difference is, Lewis was ko'd with a single big shot and couldn't continue when he was stopped. Joshua seemed to show mental weakness and looked like he wanted out of that ring immediately when faced with adversity. 2 very different circumstances.Comment

A guy who gets up 4 times is mentally weak?Joshua fans are hopeful that this situation will turn out similar to Lewis who avenged his defeats and came back stronger. it's not just about getting up, it's more about how you respond once you get up and Joshua didn't respond well. He looked like he wanted out. We've all seen Ortiz get up from multiple knock downs but it's pretty universally agreed upon that he's mentally weak. Because he usually responded in a way that didn't show a true desire to overcome adversity.Comment

AJ got hit a bunch of times, if he wanted out he would have stay down.
Besides getting up...how exactly does one show a true desire to overcome adversity? What specifically is the litmus test besides getting up?

watch someone like maidana get dropped by Victor Ortiz and amir khan and see how he finsihed those fights. Watch how Fernando vargas responded to getting dropped by Trinidad multiple times and despite losing, give his all in an effort to turn the fight around. Watch how corales responded to being dropped by castillo twice. Endless options of watching people who got dropped but put forward a genuine effort to turn the fight around, compared to someone who seemed to feel like their fate was sealed once they dealt with adversity and kind of went through the motions before packing it in. Another aspect of mental weakness was him refusing to come back to the US for the rematch. A champion with true character would want to avenge his loss and wouldn't mind doing it at the scene of the crime.Comment
