Max is a jackass. I've heard him debate Smith on various boxing topics and I have to say Smith is often more accurate than Kellerman. Kellerman is supposed to be the " boxing expert"

Dude was the face of HBO for what 6 or 7 years? And he killed boxing there and he is well on his way to killing dazn too.
Dude was 34 years old before he hit the mainstream and got his endorsements and stuff. Until he was 33 or so he was still fighting for sub $ mil paydays, basically the better part of his career had passed before he even became a big deal. He did well out of the exposure that HBO got him, but let's not forget that HBO was already moving away from boxing by the time they took GGG under their wing - in fact it's almost certainly because he was cheap as well as exciting that they did take him on, but he was absolutely not the cause of their failure - boxing budgets had been reported on a year by year decline for a long time.. quite probably the network battle with SHO and Al Haymon's nascent empire were the final nails in the coffin.

And let's face it - are you gonna tell me GGG couldn't have done better with a more mainstream promoter.?.. Had you heard of Tommy Loeffler before GGG? How many fighters did he have in his stable? How many middleweights? What major middleweight champions had he promoted or great fights had he made... nah. Dude was facing an uphill struggle from the start, if he hadn't got picked up by HBO he might well have ended up like another Andrade.

Weird, people talk like any fighter can just choose the fights they want as if having a top promoter with a decent stable doesn't make a difference whilst ignoring the fact that even in the best of conditions when both guys are under the same promoter major fights can still take years to come together... leastways, they ignore it when they want to. Course you get some guys who can pick their fights - your Canelos, Floyds, Oscars... the guys who are worth enough that the sport distorts around them, but that just ain't how it works for the vast majority of fighters.

              more excuses

the fights were sitting right there... but Golovkin would not take them

like Kellerman said... they were happy to sit back and make excuses, rather than jump on those opportunities

like it says in the... " Canelo humiliated Golovkin "... thread...

Canelo... is certainly better than Golovkin. The difference between them, though, is not just a matter of quality. It's a matter of courage. I mean, come on, Canelo is so young and he has already fought all of these big names and he is still reaching for heights that Golovkin never dared to reach for.

they took the fights they wanted... and they passed on the rest

It's amazing that anyone has ever cared what Max Kellerman has to say.

I wanted to watch, but... wait. No. I had no intention of listening to that clown.

I only came here to take notice of the fact that Max and Stephen A. are like this generation's Burt and Ernie.

After the fight Kellerman said it was an amazing performance by a 36 year old fighter. He had some valid critisisms of Golovkin's performance but all in all he was very complimentary. Thought he lost though. Then with Smith on ESPN he said it should have been a draw. Now he's saying Golovkin was a disappointment. Max you are supposed to be the boxing expert. Experts don't fly from one point of view to the other depending on what side of the bed they woke up on.

If GGG had any other promotor he would have the career of Kov. He would not have Apple and Jordan Brand ads you know how I can say this with nearly 100 percent confidence? Because, Spence, Pac, Mayweather, Ward, Canelo, ODL never had this level of mainstream deals.

If HBO boxing was 1990s HBO boxing they would not have built their coverage around a Central Asian fighting Cans on the cheap.
