That's just the first two rounds though, man....

I think GGG won the 2nd Canelo fight as did most viewers. When Canelo only wins by 115-113 115-113 and 114-114 in Vegas he really lost. Of course GGG is at an age disadvantage. He is more than 8 years older than Canelo, 6 years older than Jacobs and 4 and one half years older than Dervy. If he was 29 and not 37 he would beat them much easier. I could see Dervy winning the fight by a point or losing the fight by a point. Dervy winning by 3 points means the judges were all off by a huge amount and they weren't. Max is the one who is way off and being very hard on GGG as always.
Great post. People on here are usually too dumb to realize that GGG is well past his prime now and has been fighting way younger guys and in my opinion, has never really lost. The dame people that somehow think SD won are the same ones who think Canelo was anywhere near winning the first GGG fight. Pednelo got his @ss whooped that day and only a bias idiot could have scored that fight foe him.

Ok and? That means he was up 3-0 after 2 rounds. You mean to tell me GGG won only 1-2 rounds after that? Yeah, I don't think so. That's nonsense. I did score it 7-5 GGG(+1) and SD did much better than I expected but you don't win just because you did better than expected. Fights just aren't judged like that.

There's a reason why he was avoided when he was 29-34.

When BJS, Jacobs, and the other guys were saying: "I'm not ready for him".

And for those who believe GGG wasn't willing to fight a top MW, remember he and Pirog were about to fight and Pirog had to pull out of the fight due to injury.

So, I agree, GGG hasn't looked that good lately, but still has, in my eyes:

1 win over jacobs (super close)
1 win over canelo (not close, clear victory)
1 draw over canelo (or could have gone either way)
          1 loss over derevyanchenko

          At 35-38 years old.
29 years old-Barely beat faded Kassim Ouma.

            I stopped here.

You're pretty defensive if you're trying to argue with somebody who didn't think the fight was a robbery, bud.

I had it 115-112 and I'm not biased but I think I was putting more worth on some of the SD flurrys than were actually landing. Rewatching it I could see myself giving GGG a round or two more for a closer score/draw.

                He's not wrong.

I always felt like Max, Teddy, all the other guys up there usually say things for shock value.

I used to do the same thing when I first joined boxingscene way way way back. Just hop on say Margarito is dope, he wrecked Cotto, blah blah. Shock value.

But Max isn't really wrong on this point. He didn't crap on GGG, he just brought up reasonable conversation points. All his best fights, he struggled in.

They were close and in his opinion, GGG lost the Canelo rematch and to D'chenko. That's fair. He's .500 at that point.

seeing how that was the best of GGG's career, it's not spectacular. it's not top 50 ATG status really.

What Max is saying is, we gotta really question GGG right now but at the same time, if GGG is willing, there's still some time to put up very good cases for his legacy.

Which is fair to me but maybe we won't see it. Because GGG is chasing Canelo 3 and that might never happen.

You should stop there if you didn't know there was a KD in the first round making SD down by 3 points after 2 rds. Go follow another sport then.

I had Derev winning by one point when I first watched it. I watched it again and really it could have gone either way. Someone mentioned that Derev didn't land with his knuckles but with his wrist forearm and palm so I watched for it. That's how quite a few of his punches landed. He landed plenty of scoring punches also. They need to do it again. If he loses, he loses no shame in that..

I knew you were basing an entire fight around two rounds. There was no need to continue. It's clear you're emotional about all this.....
