Comments Thread For: Will Golovkin Give Derevyanchenko Deserved Rematch?

By Keith Idec - Gennadiy Golovkin agreed to the most sensible solution following his unconvincing victory against Sergiy Derevyanchenko. Golovkin knows he didn't defeat Derevyanchenko definitively, just like there wasn't a clear winner when he and Canelo Alvarez fought the second time a year earlier. That's why when DAZN's Chris Mannix...

I believe if GGG can't get the Canelo rematch then he definitely will give Devrychenko a second fight.
I also believe that GGG will beat Sergio cleaner next time especially if the illness rumours are true.
GGG and Banks can work out what went wrong and hopefully capitilise on his mistakes better.
Father time is very near for the G so he could lose or even get knocked out in any of his next 3 fights for DAZN.

This wouldn't be a bad idea if Canelo isn't next. Unless GGG targets Andrade for a unification.

He's all but confirmed to be fighting his mandatory next in Kamil Szeremeta. If I was GGG's management, I don't think I'd want a rematch. He sc****d by. He's only getting older. He gets guaranteed money regardless of opposition.

Derevyanchenko seems like he has lots of options with the trouble he gave Jacobs and GGG. Charlo and Andrade could both see him as a way to legitimize themselves. Not to mention Charlo and Derev both being PBC.

GGG's career is winding down. As long as Derevyanchenko keeps getting fights against top guys, I'll be content. The guy is incapable of having a boring fight.

DAZN says they have learned from the first year. If that is true they will force Golovkin to fight Andrade or Derevy. Golovkin-Szeremeta will bring in zero subs. I would rather see Andrade in a unification for 3 belts than anything.

Definitely not next with that mando fight vs some random mfer being brought up quick. Or that would seem to be the case anyway.

That said after the mando if Canelo III isnt happening for May than Derevayanchenko II seems like the #2 best option.

GGG owes D-chenko shit. If Haymon thinks his own fighter deserves another shot at the title then he should finally do something for him and give him a shot against Charlo. if they really believe Charlo's title is the real one...

All I can say is that I'm glad Derevyanchenko has regained his credibility as a top level fighter. Dude will present a very tough task for any top 3 middleweight, Canelo included or perhaps the most.

He'd be insane to give a rematch, Dervy gave him hell, and you could even argue that he won enough rounds to get the decision. I don't believe that, but I could accommodate the argument.
Dervy is too much of a risk, with no reward. He's beaten him and will gain neither legacy or money by fighting him. He should look to fight a mandatory and then unify, or vice versa before facing Canelo in May.
I'm a big fan of GGG and Canelo and would love to see them get it on again, it has to happen, neither of the previous fights was decisive, so it'd be great to have some closure. Given GGG's last performance I could see Canelo making no mistake this time, but I'd never count GGG out, as I'm sure he'll raise his game. My guess is if he manages to win he'll retire

Fans still insist Canelo vs GGG. I honestly think many GGg fans just want to see GGG KO’d.
