When Did It Become Acceptable For A Fighter 2 Not Face A Threat Cause They're Boring?

At what point did it become acceptable anyway to use a fighter being "boring" as an excuse not to fight him if hes one of the best. 🤔 If you call yourself the best you must be willing to fight anyone regardless of style. If that's the case say you're the best against "exciting style" fighters & not the best fighter.
I've said this on here previously before.

This thread is inspired by Canelo's latest (& possibly 1st ever direct) comments publicly about Demetrius Andrade. I try to be as objective as possible. Andrade's last two performances were the most uneventful I've seen from him in recent years. He did outclass Sulecki in his last performance & made him look like he didn’t belong in the ring but it did become boring & repetitive at times.

But aside from #CaneloGGG2 what makes Canelo this super exciting fighter over Andrade? What were these exciting performances? Can anybody name them?

This dude is a great fighter but he makes it so hard to be a fan of his. To say Andrade isn't a challenge is incredulous. This dude reminds me of a spoiled brat, so privileged and he doesn't even know it. We seen the Trout, Floyd, Lara, & GGG fights. He pretends he hasn't received any favoritism & it's sickening. Seeing him say he beat GGG twice as if there was no controversy with a straight face, disgusts me.

I know it's a business but I just wanna see the best vs the best to see how great everyone is now & amongst history.

So this is the thread in a nutshell: At what point did it become acceptable anyway to use a fighter being "boring" as an excuse not to fight him if hes one of the best? 🤔

& what makes Canelo this super exciting fighter over Andrade? What were these exciting performances? Can anybody name them?

I suppose when it became about PPV. Fans look for **** for their buck.

Canelo v Kovalev or Canelo v Andrade.

No contest in terms of which is likely to make fans part with their cash.

I don't think anyone except die-hard Nelo fans (of which there are a lot in general, and on here) are giving/would give Nelo a pass for those comments...if no GGG, Andrade is the next most logical fight for Canelo at 160...I think most objective people would agree with that.

I will say I don't like Andrade's assertion that Canelo ducked him to go up to 175 and face Kovalev...it kind of makes me view some of the things Andrade says/has said with a grain of salt tbh...but he is clearly a test right now for anyone at 160, and outside of GGG and Canelo, he and SD are pretty clearly the top next 2 at 160 imo...and hell those 2 could be the top 2 at 160...we all saw how well SD did vs GGG.

Andrade unfortunately is high risk low reward...his style being 'boring' to some is just an excuse to not take the fight...most objective people would agree with that...the best should want to fight the best, regardless of the style/excitement level of that fighter.

It is a business though...so I can understand taking on challengers that bring in more money...I do feel for Andrade a bit - hard to say he is unproven and should face someone, when he is pretty clearly not at the top of any other top fighter's list for a fight...so it's not like he has all of these opponents to pick from to prove it.

I agree with your assessment on the Sulecki fight...he beat him easily but it was still kind of unimpressive...I am interested to see Andrade in some more good fights...he is just an awkward matchup for just about anyone I think.

To your questions - Canelo (in part due to good matchmaking) probably has more KOs than Andrade...that is generally what we consider excitement...but if DAZN approves Andrade as a matchup for Nelo, and if he gets paid about the same to face him vs anyone else, then yeah Andrade-Canelo should happen for sure and should be an upcoming fight for Canelo....if Nelo sticks with the boring excuse at that point, he will look bad imo.

I used to like Canelo before he became such an arrogant liar and refused to give GGG a rematch after taking GGG's title in a razor thin split home town decision. Canelo is a damn good fighter and I love watching him fight. Canelo lied when he said he wanted to unify 160 because that would have meant fighting Andrade and here he is saying he will not fight Andrade so clearly he never intended to fight Andrade. He lied again when he told GGG to get a belt to earn a fight with him. GGG has the belt he told him to get and he made it clearer than ever that he will never fight GGG. Canelo speaks the truth about two things. Andrade is boring and Andrade never beat a good dangerous middleweight even though he is the WBO champion. The WBO often has the weakest champions and the weakest contenders. Andrade got the title by beating some African nobody ever hears of who was ranked about 28th by boxrec. He has not defended his title against anybody that good and his next opponent is not very good. While Andrade is waiting for that big GGG or Canelo payday he should fight a really good dangerous middleweight and prove himself. If Andrade beats Jacobs or Jermall or Dervy then he has beaten a good dangerous middleweight. He has never done that in my opinion.

Canelo's 2019 is Jacobs and Kovalev

Canelo isnt the one ducking anybody. Canelo isnt the one with resume or competition level problems.

Andrade is 31 now and doesnt have a single good win. Maybe he should do something to make fans demand Canelo fight him, because Canelo is fighting better guys that him right now.

Where was the outrage when Miguel Berchelt ducked Jamel Herring for the same reason and said black fighters don’t sell ?

How about when Leo Santa Cruz ducked Gary Russell jr even when Russell jr pulled up on his father?

What about Lomachenko ducking his mandatory in Devin Haney for a sparring partner and saying it’s cuz he’s not ready yet has fought his mandatories in the past!?

Canelo is the best right now and this comes with the territory!

When Canelo takes care of Andrade people will say who cares he didn’t fight anyone or that he was too green!

Andrade need to fight Charlo since they have unfinished business or make some exciting fights!

He’s had one exciting fight and that was when he beat the giant African for the WBO belt since then let’s be honest, have any of your replayed an Andrade fight!?

But the Andrade fight wouldn't be PPV, they are both Dazn fighters
