Since when does your first dwi and speeding result in jail time even when there is a crash?

Probably no jail time, but he will definitely lose his drivers license for a year or two. Probably alcohol counselling mandatory.

Gonna depend on the speed and alcohol level.

Gonna be hard to not give him some jail time if he was going 100 mph and very drunk.

When something is very public they may feel the need to give some jail time esp. if the parameters are too high.

Drink driving and reckless driving are considered to be a jailing offence in the U.K. ....especially at high speed in a built up populated area with video evidence to back up the charge.
