All of the above you named were already global phenoms long before their appearances at fake fighting events and boxing was at its peak in each of those times. To do so now in order to gain a fan base speaks directly to the absolute sad state of boxing today

Not really untapped then is it?

Just ****ing with you. But I wouldn’t really co oRe them. Those were crossovers to help grow a wrestling event. This isn’t going to bring any fake wrestling fans to a Top Rank event, and it’s not like Fury was selling PPV’s to help the wwe either

Hahaha I mean no boxer has done it for over a decade.

Regardless I think it’s a good move, the Fury WWE stuff has definitely crossed over and has been covered by mainstream news channels. It also helps a working relationship with FOX, I’m all for it tbh.

I’m obviously not comparing Fury’s drawing power to those mentioned but it’s still a good move for him. It’s great exposure, as WWE regularly attract millions of viewers. It also helps Fury build a profile as a legitimate mainstream star.

His main concern is that some of these WWE stars might beat him up more than Tom Schwarz

He has already grown his fanbase actually. I know people who watch WWE, can't name a single boxer except like Mike or Ali, and now they know Tyson's name and ask me if he's a good champion. I just tell them yes and leave out the caveats of lineal.

Also, despite being white and irish there's some folks who wonder if he's related to Mike in some way. I tell them yes to that too.

Thing is, not sure that'll get him more ticket sold when he actually fights, but, he sure does have a good side gig to fall back on if he don't want to fight anymore. The WWE fans like him.

Tyson Fury is the perfect guy to join WWE. He doesn't need anyone backstage telling him how to sell a match. I think it would be a good way to end him athletic career after boxing. Regardless how often he is involved with the WWE it is only raising his profile in the US & on the world stage as the WWE is watched globally. If he limits his appearances this could help his upcoming rematch with Wilder sell even more tickets & PPVs. Not a bad publicity stunt but I do see why old fish eyes would be concerned...

If it wasn't for the still healing cuts over Fury's eye, I'd say this was pure marketing genius. As it is, it's a risk that maybe not worth taking at this point.
WWE may be scripted, but accidents do happen. I've seen plenty of blood and serious muscular-skeletal damage over the years caused by mis-timing a choreographed move. Let's not forget what happened with Owen Hart either.
