GGG should have stayed with Abel..

Should have at least stayed with a trainer that focuses on inside and mid range.

Trying to switch to outside and completely changing his style at this stage of his career is a huge mistake.

I think he looked more confused like he didn't know what to do. Like NB said, he turned on when he got cracked and his instinct took over.

Not sure why everyone is overreacting for, let's look at GGG's biggest fights/opponents (Jacobs/Canelo and now Dervy). He has somehow struggled with all 3, because they are all in around his level. Anything below that level he destroys them..So for me GGG has found his level.

Nah, he’s just a bum who was picking on small fighters. Once he stepped up to someone his own size, he got an ass whooping and a gift. The only great small fighter that gave him the blues was Emperor Canelo. Although I strongly believe Jacobs exposed him first.

Not sure why everyone is overreacting for, let's look at GGG's biggest fights/opponents (Jacobs/Canelo and now Dervy). He has somehow struggled with all 3, because they are all in around his level. Anything below that level he destroys them..So for me GGG has found his level.

Golovkin didnt struggle with Canelo in fight one, but he is very one paced and always succeptable to being outworked by a high energy fighter with decent durability. He waits until your flurry is over, he doesn't punch with you. When the other guy doesn't stop, Golovkin doesnt start.

I don't agree with the bold. The problem was GGG being too old and too coddled at the height of his prime (mismanaged).

I wasn't impressed by anything Derevyanchenko did, not a single thing. This guy is a bum. GGG made him look like a killer.

Yes GGG is a quality fighter but every time he has "stepped up " to a quality fighter like a Derevyanchenko he has been found wanting.

Put a fighter like a Kell Brooks against him this past weekend and he would have looked like the "killer" of old and no one would have been talking about his age.

This is the same Derevyanchenko that GGG AVOIDED and DROPPED his IBF belt so he could fight the safe , "retired" and undersized Vanes Martirosyan for crying out loud!!!

GGG should be thankful they GAVE him the decision.

I'm surprised I'm not seeing more fan comments, or the "experts" mentioning this aspect and, regardless of reasons why he may've done so, the same situation, or at least a similar situation has played out in two of Golovkin's last three fights. Right or wrong, whether listening was beneficial or not, in the Canelo rematch it was plain as day that whatever it was Abel and Golovkin (I admit to knowing little about this sorta thing, do fighters at this level assist in this or not?) decided to build a fight plan around and intended to do in the fight, even if the plan was as simple as "come forward, chase Canelo ALL night, cuz he won't stand his ground..." But, going off of what we got to hear from Abel in between rounds, GGG, wasn't executing whatever it was they'd intended to do/expected they'd be able to, in many of the earlier rounds in the fight. Whether it would really mean anything significant or not, I don't have the knowledge too confidently say so either way, but it's not exactly new and I'm intrigued to see where it is he/they decide to go from here.
