You are right and I agree. Pretty much nothing other than to let his hands go more because his opponent was outpunching him 2 to 1.

At least to me, Gennady appeared to be more lethargic and sluggish than usual. He just didn't seem to have the same amount of energy or workrate as he had in previous bouts.

      to jab

Actually Banks has always been a keep it simple guy, which makes me wonder what the hell he even does in the corner. Abel was a system coach, hence all his fighters' success rates. If you read my posts I always thought Abel was absolutely underrated. He was always guiding what to do. I'm not sure if anyone has read Abel's reddit AMA. You can gauge just how well he implements tactics in a fight and just how aware he is.

Banks: Golovkin move your head more you getting hit, as all casual fans were exclaiming

Abel and hardcore fans : Don't move your head because your shifting body weight everywhere and are constantly adjusting balance and therefore aren't able to punch as hard through technique. Your reducing the effectiveness of your stance, and you don't actually understand how head movements fits in your arsenal, or the big picture.

Again, boxing is all trade offs, and some styles have a ton of depth. And its all on management and coaching to apply the principles of what they want to see Golovkin excel at.

Head movement is great! If your primarily a savvy counter puncher who's already on the move and don't win through pressure and sturdiness.
And for those who think head movement is a must for defense...
just know all professionals know many ways to counter head movement hahahaha

      Move head to any slot
professional boxer >> yeah but he's coming back to the center where I can punch him (duh).

There's a ton of things these guys are aware of that goes beyond what we see.

            The "problem" was Derevyanchenko!!

Anything else is just fake news.

OFf of this performance , Derevyanchenko deserved the nod more than Canelo did in his first fight with GGG!!!

Too bad that at this level the outcome of fights are dictated more by BU$INE$$ than who truly deserves the nod.

GGG is the brand name, Derevyanchenko is an "unknown".

When push comes to shove the brand name almost always gets the nod!!!

Much respect to Derevyanchenko for waging the kind of war he waged with a cut eye the duration of the fight!!1

              It's called age.

I wish GGG had fought Ward, even in a losing effort. His overall demeanor about fighting C and D graders throughout his career might have changed drastically. I can almost swear to GGG having a much, much better resume by now, had he done that.

              It is what it is.

Who said Golovkin's paying Banks? :-)

I don't agree with the bold. The problem was GGG being too old and too coddled at the height of his prime (mismanaged).

I wasn't impressed by anything Derevyanchenko did, not a single thing. This guy is a bum. GGG made him look like a killer.
