No announcement yet.
Jacobs barely beat SD, media said he was a top Canelo opponent. Why not GGG then?

Canelo should fight Andrade or a 168 titlist. Let Golovkin mix it up with the contenders, those who beat him place themselves in position for Canelo. The Canelo-Golovkin ship has sailed.
If he doesn't fight G their will always be a question mark next to both fights.
Plus it's still the biggest money fight for both guys.
If it did happen I would prefer it to be at 168

You can't say Canelo's pay would be the same if he fought GGG compared to say Fielding.
That just makes no financial sense whatsoever.

Even if it weren't in the contract I'm sure he could negotiate some sort of extra payment for a fight of this magnitude.
I mean cmon one of the reasons they got Canelo was for the third instalment.

Not many fighters can do what he's doing at the moment jumping up and down in divisions.
Hmmm???
Don't be shocked if he shows up at the weigh-in, fully hydrated and rested, and steps onto the scale at 173/174lbs, while Kovalev shows up looking drawn as **** to barely make 175lbs before pounding down Pedialyte.
Canelo doesn't need to be this giant guy to beat Kovalev; he's got to be strong enough, and he's got to use his boxing brain/craft to get inside Kovalev's lead jab.
That's it

I have no doubt he puts in the hard yards, almost certainly more than the average fighter but its just a cpl of things to think about.

...
... I didn't watch live Canelo-GGG I and II... and not even in replay... I only watched highlights...
... as we all know, Canelo actually is the biggest star and cash cow in boxing to date -- in case opponents can't stop him, then Canelo wins hard fought decisions...

Listen some people here make it seem like only the guy they like can fight and everyone else is scared of their guy. Or when their guy has a tough fight or takes on an easy opponent then they make excuses. I don’t I respect all men who step in the ring even those at the bottom of the ratings unless they’ve been tko’d by phantom punches or have taken obvious dives.
Just because I personally don’t think GGG is what the media hyped him up to be and I also believe the media are extremely soft on him compared to others. I do know for a fact that he’s a dog and he’s not easy to beat and if your not prepared he will beat you the **** you up!!
He’s a hard man and he punches with mean intentions unless your willing to give it right back to him every time because for the most part he’s gonna try to keep coming.
With that being said I still thought he lost to SD and DJ but I’m no judge and I respect the judges opinion weather I like it or not.
I completely agree
also... he has been " reluctant " (nicest way that I can put it, "refused" is probably more accurate) to test himself against the very best
