I had never really heard of Arce before that fight and now he is very popular. good example

        Michael Watson.

I didn't even know what skin colour he had before he fought Nigel Benn, he was put in front of Benn for Nigel to punch him out of the ring on American TV and impress the American audience. But Watson put on a boxing masterclass! I couldn't believe it, I was watching it and thinking 'Who the hell is this guy?'. He opened his gloves and cupped both sides of his forehead, and dipped in low with his elbows, blocking everything Nigel threw from all angles - upstairs, downstairs, everything.. and he countered every time Nigel finished a flurry, always keeping his cool. Benn burned himself out, and Watson, still as fresh as anything, dropped him with a jab.. Benn got up at nine but the referee waved if off with Nigel's face swelled to bits (with Watson looking totally unmarked).

Watson looked damn impressive against Benn, but nobody knew who he was before that.

When he fought his first title fight here in the US vs then IBF champion Irene Pacheco, and VIC KOd him in the 11th, this is when his name got big here.

Then after that, VIC defended his IBF and IBO World Titles on SHOWTIME in a 8th Round KO vs Gabbi, and more recently again on SHOWTIME Championship Boxing, another 8th Round KO vs 33-0 Luis Maldonado.

Currently VIC is ranked TOP 3 in the Flyweight division.

                  true,

i dont think any good fighter can really just pop out of nowhere.

If someone is 20-0, or 25-0, then someone must have seen some of his fights and appreciated him along the line
