A great boxer does great things on the highest level..they dont look average against B class boxers, They all usually have atleast a few Hall of fame/p4p ranked boxers on their resumes and have beaten them in impressive fashion. Every year if seems this sport is getting more and more watered down..More meaningless titles and more average boxers being claimed to be great when they are nowhere close to being great.
Can we please stop trying to make average boxers great?

Meaningless titles? .. Yes.. plenty of that to go around these days.
Greatness.... that only comes with time. Its not something one can shove down anyone's throat. Its always about he resume and that comes with time. -
Most ATGs have like 3 or 4 fights with other ATGs...and those ATGs are about 50/50 in those fights, that's what happens when 2 greats mix it up...it is very rare for two really great fighters to be in the same era/weight class/age and actually fight...look at the Spence-Crawford situation now etc...I think you are romanticising past eras a bit...the greats of any era usually earn the acclaim they get, and if they are overrated they generally get exposed, usually sooner rather than later.Comment

Lots of great fighters have had bad or average performances against B or lesser fighters. Pretty much all of them actually. Even your favorite.Comment

I think you're just trying to subtly diss GGG lol...dude is 37, his best years are probably past him...hard to argue with how great he was though imo...if he wasn't great it would have been exposed a while ago (as AJ was with Ruiz etc)...his run at MW was very impressive imo and he was the best of his era in a glamour division...I don't see how his accolades stack up much different to past ATGs at MW.Comment

But if you’ve been guilty of being so blatantly wrong why point the finger at others for having similar enthusiasm?
You had him down as a generational great. You had GGG down as trash. Golovkin is far better. Maybe your eye test isn’t the be all end all?Comment
