i don't think you can say that. golovkin put him down literally in round 1, cut his eye badly enough that the fight could have been in jeopardy [they called it a clash of heads for some reason, it was clearly a punch but the corner did an amazing job with it.]

derevyanchenko outworked him often and carried rounds with youth, tempo, and even some boxing skills. definitely can't say he was the more damaging puncher, because he wasn't by any of the reasonably metrics.

i thought canelo beat him up in the rematch. golovkin won a few rounds, but the rounds he lost he took a real beating to the body and the head. particularly downstairs. how bad golovkin has looked in his last two fights is evidence of that beating.

Yeah probably but he won that fight.

People at the fight said it was clear that Golovkin landed the harder punches.

he put him down in teh first round without hitting him flush. i have also seen two or three dozen of his fights . i don't need anybody to tell me who hits harder. neither does derevyanchenko lol. he'll tell ya. he did well on teh strength of his skills, doesn't make him a bigger puncher even if he did more damage over the course of the fight, that comes down to volume.

Phew. There’s light and honesty in boxing after all. Most GGG Groupies haven’t said, once, since the “win” vs Devry, that GGg’s armor took a toll after the Canelo rematch. Most Groupies just say he’s old and never acknowledging a hard fight and realistic recovery. These same fans are the ones whom are saying Kovalev is finished for the same exact logic, taking a beating...

GGG hasn't looked the same. He all but abandoned his jab the other night and he looked completely spent after 3 or 4 rounds. The fact that he was able to finish and keep the fight close is a testament to his heart. I have no problem with the fight the other night going either way. I'd have to watch again but I feel like Deveryanchenko took his foot off the gas in the later rounds (8-11).

Golovkin won rounds 1 including a knockdown and 2

                      I'd give Derevyanchenko rounds 3,4,5

Rounds 6 could have gone either way

                      Rounds 7,8 to Golovkin

Round 9, close (felt Golovkin edged it)

                      Round 10, Derevyanchenko

Round 11, Derevyanchenko won it but it was close

                      Round 12, Golovkin (close)

Derevyanchenko won only about 4 rounds clearly. You can't call that a decisive victory with so many close rounds. Could have gone either way. You can make a case for Golovkin winning 7 rounds so no you are wrong. And he was never on the verge of knocking Golovkin out, are you on crack?
Motherfucker, Derevyanchenko got his punches off first and beat Golovkin to the punch all fight. Gennady was reluctant in letting his hands go which is an early sign of a shot fighter. Moreover, he had no timing, accuracy, or snap on his punches and he appeared more fatigued and gassed than usual too.

While on the other hand, Sergiy landed the cleaner, harder and more accurate punches of the two and even rocked GGG multiple times in the process as well. He even hurt and folded Golovkin with a body shot and looked like he was ready to go several times but the ref kept jumping into the action.

In addition, Derevyanchenko was the busier of the two fighters as well. He even had a much higher workrate and punch output too. GGG's workrate was very low. You can't win fights when you don't throw enough punches.

Once again, as I have stated previously; I like GGG and is a fan of his but he did not win this fight. If I am going to be an honest and an unbiased boxing fan I have to tell the truth.

I always acknowledge Golovkin's victories but I also must acknowledge his losses and this was one of them. I can't be a hypocrite! He lost this fight; Knockdown or no.
