He looked off, his energy was shhh at the open workouts, and he might’ve been sick but he looked like shhh. This ain’t Jordan and his flu game, cancel the fight rather than come into a ring and get battered like that. ****** fking move and I hope they give Derevyanchenko a rematch, scorecards cost me my bet and I’m a Golovkin fan but he looked like absolute shhh. You could tell he was off just watching the footage of him hitting the mitts with banks, he was back there taking breath breaks after five or six right hands..if you are that sick just cancel the fight. Credit though at least he didn’t embarrass himself saying he was sick. This is world class level stuff if you ain’t 100% capable of breathing and shhh, fk the pay day reschedule the fight or take your azz whopping and keep it moving on the humble.also how is the athletic commission letting mugga fuggas fight coming off flu symptoms if that’s the case? Aren’t they super uptight about getting sued should something go wrong? This fight, it’s result, and g’s performance have left a bad taste in a lot of mouths, I’m still glad I bet on Derevyanchenko he was the better man that night. If Golovkin looks bad like this in his next fight, no excuses hang em up and retire.

Love these post fight escape clauses

Not quite Pac level, though. That one is hard to top.

I actually believe that ggg was sick the heavy breathing from the early rounds looking sluggish having tough time getting to 170 and well the flu here is getting widespread now again aging gracefully plus the way pacquiao fought broker when was super sick makes me appreciate pacquiao more and we all should while the legend is still here. If I was ggg I'd rematch Sergey or fight Charlo then canelo then fight 2 easy fights then retire once the dazn 6 fight deal is up cause it's obvious ggg is not one of those 1 out of 100 fighters than can fight til 40 and still be a force too wreckem with

DAZN commentators mentioned in Round 1 (just before the knockdown happened) of the fight that GGG was sick of a cold or flu... I also observed that GGG looked weak when they show a footage of him entering the fight venue...

It's quite possible, but it is what it is. We live in the real world and probably half the time guys come to the ring they ain't 100% for one reason or another, maybe their kids are sick or the missus is screwing around or they got legal problems or whatever... if you're too sick to fight safely then cancel, otherwise you don't make excuses (though I'm noting this is Hearn not GGG saying this).

That said if it is true it would add a little more frisson to the idea of a rematch, which is what I'm hoping we get next. Course Hean's doing what he got to do - whether GGG actually was ill or not it's a much better idea promotionally to sell this as an off night than irreversible deterioration. Time will tell, I guess.

I guess it´s possible, GGG was ill vs Ouma and Rosado but he never admitted it himself so.. still ****** if true, especially with a non stop 12 rd ****er like SD. I´m voting for an immediate rematch, Cinco de Mayo with a huge undercard just to annoy Fishnets.

I get that he had a cold, but does anyone know about his socks? Did he have bad socks for this fight?

What about injuries, any injuries he didnt list on the pre fight paperwork? Remember you need not see any indication of the injury during the fight, a lot of times we only hear about them after a gift decision or loss has occurred.

                    Shlt happens when people fight.

                    GGG (Maybe) was sick
SD had a fuc ked up eye for most of the fight
Evened shlt out if you ask me.

It's like this in every sport. Not everyone is going to be 100% all the time. But's it's nice to have something to ''throw out there'' just in case.

Very few fighters actually go into a fight 100%

That said there was talk of him being ill before the fight and the commentators even said it in round 1, so it’s not a drummed up excuse afterwards

He did look lethargic, like you would feel with a cold, but he’s also 37 and fading quickly

I actually thought he edged the fight but you can see he’s in a quick decline
