    Quit the Tears

No Robbery , Close fight hard to argue with Decision since Golovkin got a KD

Sh.it. by NSB standards this shouldn’t even be a debate

I thought It was about who’s face looked worse , well if we’re going by that same standard those lames should think it’s a clear W for Golovkin this time around because Devre Mug was f.ucked Up

Problem for him imo is he got a bit unlucky that he didn't have a clear 8-4 win...the flash KD in round 1, and then the big cut opened up in round 2..shade both those to GGG for me, whereas without a couple of those punches, it could have been 2-0 SD...those two rounds (and maybe a couple other close rounds where GGG edged/could have edged) turned a quite clear 7-5 or 8-4 win for him to 6-6 for GGG on my card.

But I agree SD was the better fighter...just got a bit unlucky that he didn't make it clearer...if they fought again and the breaks went his way instead of GGG it could have been 8-4 or better for SD for me.
How could have SD won the 1st round, the best he could have hoped for was a drawn found with the KD, even then he would have had to pulverise ggg for the other 2.50 seconds of the round

I went to the open workout at MSG when they each did the stuff for the fans and press, Golovkin didn’t seem himself and his energy was shhh so I plunked down a Benjamin at 5-1 odds on Sergiy to get the decision. How true is it that Golovkin was sick earlier in the week? Who knows they did mention it before the fight while the fighters were preparing and even in those shots of him in the locker room he didn’t look his normal self. I do think he’s on the slide though and I’m not sure how much of that was age, possible illness, struggles with the second day weigh in, or opponent but none of it should take away from the showing out Derevyanchenko put on Saturday night. I called this fight as a bad choice for GGG but he should definitely man up and run that back in January if he’s hoping for a 3rd fight in May, keeps him busy, maybe he looks better and redeems himself or realizes his time has passed and retires before the trilogy.
Yes good post my friend...well said...I also wonder if the last fight GGG had at 164 impacted him physically at all in this one...not really a good move imo to be bouncing around weights like that (at his age mainly), even if they are small margins...can leave you feeling drained possibly.

Yeah could have been sick as well..for whatever reason I didn't see his great jab Saturday night, and I think that is what has made him great...it's one of the best I have ever seen.

Only question I have about the rematch is whether DAZN really wants it, mainly for the reason of how much money it would make for them, and what they would pay SD? For this fight, they kind of had to pony up...they don't really have to do that for the rematch, as they could go in a different direction with GGG if needed.

I just think it won't make a ton of sense for them financially to do it unfortunately, as SD will probably not want to take a huge pay cut, or one at all, for the rematch....I like DAZN (and GGG) and what they are trying to do right now, but GGG isn't worth $15 million unless it is a Canelo fight, and SD isn't worth $5 million unless it is Canelo imo...I just wonder how SD-GGG did financially and if it came close to breaking even.

I guess we will see how it plays out! Will be interested to see what GGG's next moves are...retire/opponent/venue/weight...a lot of questions for him right now.

That's not what I was saying lol

I was just saying that without the KD in round 1, iirc, it was fairly even action...and it wasn't like GGG was pummeling SD around all night like that...SD got caught early, and that gave GGG a 10-8 round, no problem with that...I just think that without the KD, and without the big left hook in round 2 by GGG, those two rounds could swing the other way.

Just was making the general point that I feel without a few punches landed by GGG, it could have been a pretty clear win imo for SD...he was outworking GGG basically the entire fight, and a few big shots from GGG in some of the rounds kept him in it.

That tells you how boxing works. Ive always liked Golovkin but he got the nod because of the dollar bills he generates just like Canelo got a draw in an obvious loss and a win in a close fight he should have lost.
Good post...SD did by far imo the best I've seen vs GGG...next best was Ouma imo
