Wilder: Ruiz Jr fight is bigger than AJ fight will ever

    Wilder told Skysports:

“With the win, that was a big booster, and it got a lot of people around him, especially the Mexican people,” said Wilder. “Every day they remind him. The Ruiz fight is even huger,” said Wilder when asked if it will bother him if Joshua loses to Ruiz, and he can’t fight him. “Whoever wins it’ll be a big fight, but the biggest fight of all is me and Andy Ruiz fight after that, because of his background.

“He’s got the Hispanic background, and he’s American. So he’s got both of the sides. And what he’s done being the first Mexican heavyweight champion of the world. That’s huge for Mexico. They never had that before. So a lot of people that weren’t alert about him, they are now, and you know how they are with boxing. So it makes it even bigger, and you’re in America. You know what I’m saying? It’s bigger than what Joshua can ever be,” said Wilder.

The dumbest boxer in history and the gift that keeps on giving strikes again, lol.

If Ruiz beats Aj again and wilder beats Fury, the Wilder/Ruiz fight is massive because it pits the 2 best HWT's in the world against each other in a unification bout. The fact Ruiz is Mexican-American (with much more name value than when he first fought AJ) will add a dimension to a HWT unification fight we haven't really seen.

I expect AJ to win because historically British HWT's usually win the rematch after the middle tier American knocks them out.

However, I will be rooting for Ruiz.

I’ll say it would be bigger if ruiz wins. A Mexican heavy vs a American knockout artist. Pushed by Fox I’m sorry but that **** does crazy numbers On ppv

Agreed, he's the dumbest boxer I've ever seen, along with the dumbest fanbase.

Even if Ruiz beats Joshua and Wilder beats Fury, that doesn't make Ruiz the second best heavy in the world.

Fury and Wilder are the best in the division. Ruiz is maybe a distant third.

I think I agree with him. A heavyweight Mayweather vs Canelo

Wilder will never do Mayweather numbers as long as he's got a hole in his arse.

If wilder beats Fury and Ruiz beats AJ there is no way you can rank Fury ahead of Ruiz. Please stop. The fight would be Ruiz v Wilder in Las Vegas or Barclays. Fury and AJ would be 3 and 4. Whyte may be on PED suspension otherwise he will be 5th.

I know as a Brit you are worried that this could happen even though you expect AJ and Fury to win the rematches. If it does don't worry, you can have a British super 6 for the BBC HWT title.

So a Wilder who can't sell 9,000 tickets in a 17,000 capacity arena is now a Mayweather and Andy Ruiz who was fighting in-front of 500 people 5 months ago is Canelo? LMAO.

I guess Maurice Hooker vs Ramirez was light welterweight Mayweather and Canelo based on your logic. I heard they also did 2.5million PPV buys.
