Look, I don’t really rate AJ. I think he’s fairly good/above average at best. But, having watched the back and forth between coaches and players in other sports over many years, I think i’m familiar with Wilder’s attempt at mind games here.
I can’t really think of too many occasions where a boxer will use psychological warfare against one that he is not in an upcoming fight with (I mean a more subtle form, not just calling everyone ****)
If Wilder’s trying to put AJ off his game at this stage without a fight between them on the horizon it tells me that he’s either not confident of beating him or that Haymon’s asked him to ramp the pressure to try to increase the chance of a PBC unification.
