Will never understand why Wallin didn’t push harder to target the eye in that fight. The fight could have been stopped had he upped his output after that extremely nasty gash

Maybe he was told not to, just like Fury was told it was ruled from a punch.

Some fights you win at all costs and this was one of them. Maybe Gomache thought that if Wallin targeted the cut Fury would begin to anticipate and time Wallin but sometimes you need to throw the dice and risk it. What I don't understand is Gomache telling Wallin to counter over the top and peck at Fury, Fury's 4 inches taller then him your not going to simply counter over the top Fury.

You could hear Wallin's corner telling him repeatedly to target the eye. He even risked a dq by targeting it illegally with the heel of his glove after the bell!

Clearly, Wallin and his team were aware of the commission's ruling on the cause of the cut.

Yes indeed it was. That's like having an extra man in the corner with the inside feed on what's going on.

It wasn't an inside feed though. How could it be when the commission's ruling was broadcast live to the TV audience?

They didn't tell Fury's corner anything that they weren't supposed to know, and entitled to know.

The only controversy is why did Weeks give the corner misinformation and then never correct that misinformation.

Exactly! Weeks could have cost Fury the fight by giving him incorrect information, and nobody did anything about it except the commentary team. They should be applauded for that.
