I've gone to fights at the garden since 2000, there isn't some great disparity in ticket costs for this fight compared to most others. Tickets almost always start at around $50 then shoot up to the thousands for the floor. As far as sales, I wouldn't expect them to be great. The day before the Canelo vs fielding fight it was mentioned that there were 4000 seats still available.
I guess it depends on what fight your comparing it to. I’m sure there are some fights with low interest that have low ticket prices like this.
I would say you would be hard pressed to find a fight where a fighter is getting paid like GGG that has this type of prices and where the second deck is pretty much not available. The prices I’ve seen for lower bowl seats is what I’ve seen for nosebleeds in the fights I’ve attended there.
GGG is making more than most Mayweather opponents earned. I would say with that type of purse you would expect a bigger paid turnout than what you’ll see on Saturday.

Wow! GGG going in deep with facts! Canelo ducked the trilogy fight and they both have fights scheduled. End of discussion, really.

Canelo is the biggest draw in boxing thus he has a plentiful number of options at any given time.

GGG has very few options and is running out of time.
Nope. He is in a contract with DAZN and they have the right to approve of his opponents until it expires.

          No, you're DDD,

That stands for Dumb, Dimwit, Douchebag.

DAZN only gave him a few option that they would approve for his next fight and I think they only included GGG, Kovalev and Andrade.

            WOW!

Golovkin spitting in the media's face after they helped push his lies to the public , with that fake narrative; "Anyone from 154-168 vs. All the best fighter's & All the belt's."

Well media , you built The Diva , now you have to deal with her.

Truth. The Kovalev fight is a good one but it isn't the fight most fans wanted. It isn't the most difficult fight either and the odds reflect that.

Speaking of DAZN. I'm confident they are regretting signing Canelo to that long term contract. I doubt it's generating the money needed just to pay his contract. They screwed up. I'm all for fighters getting well paid including Canelo but DAZN needs to turn a profit.

There are a lot of fights Alvarez could make but there are only two that make sense from a fan and a business perspective. Those two fights are Golovokin and Kovalev. It is absolutely understandable that DAZN doesn't want to settle for less.

Nope and he's stuck fighting this weekend where there is no hype and nobody cares and having to talk about canelo. Canelo owns his soul and calls the shots not GGG and it burns him.
Your right in saying Canelo got the fight he wanted. DAZN wanted him to fight GGG but when Canelo refused (and why did he do that?) the accepted Kovalev. I don't know how this plays out for Canelo in the long term but DAZN ain't none too happy.

I recall seeing a pretty underwhelming crowd size for Trinidad vs Roy Jones at msg. I was actually able to just move down sections because so many seats were open. That fight would've filled up the entire arena a few yrs earlier but by the time they fought, it was like a seniors tour to the fans. Pretty sure they both got paid pretty well either way though.
