I agree that the hype he has gotten has put him on a level that he isn't yet bc of the talent he has shown at such a young age. His dad doesn't help with how braggadocious he is about his kid, but it's understandable why. Commey is a solid guy, but aside from beating an old Beltran, he's lost his two other notable fights in Easter & Shafikov by SD & neither of these two guys are as skilled as Lopez imo. He is still a dangerous opponent who is tough & can really crack & if Lopez doesn't come correct, he can definitely take an L here. Lopez' moment of truth is approaching & it should be a good one.

I see it like this. If Lopez goes into this fight as mentally breakable as he has looked as of late, he will fall apart and get knocked out or quit. If he comes in motivated and mentally ready for a real hard fight, he has a good chance to win. He has a lot of talent, but not quite complete upstairs.

Lopez is still young and is almost certain to have a higher final potential than Comney who is already in his prime, that being said he's started to sound a bit like a spoiled brat lately. Comney is a fully deserving champion and has a lot of power for his weight, if Lopez is not mentally ready on fight night he'll get sparked out. With the likes of Lopez and Haney, the gamble is when to decide they are ready for the elites. It's an oft-repeated mistake for a world class prospect to make the leap too soon and come up short.
