So are we just gonna ignore that Ugas is a better fighter than Spence?

Porter fought better than he did against Ugas. There was more at stake here and he, as a big underdog instead of the favorite, fought with a different sense of urgency.

My favorite thing on this board is how a bunch of moronic posts pop up right after a competitive fight happens. Boxing...

That's a really weak argument. These guys are professionals. They are supposed to take EVERY fight just as serious as the next.

The bottom line is Porter won this fight. Knockdown or no Spence did not win this fight. He lost. Porter landed the cleaner and harder punches that back Spence up all night. Spence was mostly relegated to the body by throwing several punches south of the border. He should have been penalized at least a point or two for low blows.

Yes, that will most definitely be ignored by all but about eleven people. I won't fully commit to the position of the thread title, but Ugas could give Spence serious grief and no, this isn't an opinion forged in the last eight hours. I've felt this way for the better part of a year

Whattttt nobody’s will was broken last night... the only thing that bleed was spence’s ego thinking it’d be an easy night hence his comments before the fight that “any other result than a stoppage” will be a disappointment to him.

Not only did he fail to do that, he got mauled in the process as well

Come on Tommy. Yes in theory you are correct. In reality we know people approach different situations differently.

We also know guys fight different as the favorite and the headliner than when they are the underdog or the b side.

Porter also brings an awkward style and strength that Spence had never really dealt with. Ugas may have had experience we don’t know about. He may have had a better sparring partner ( maybe from a lighter weight) that better mimicked Porters awkwardness.

It’s just hard to say a guy that lost to Porter in a close fight showed he was better than a guy that beat Porter in a close fight.
