Everyone's missing the most important takeaway, which is that, according to contracted amounts (Which are NOT the same as the 'take), these guys who are the top of the welterweight division accepted a 50/50 split to fight each other and find out who's really the top dog. That needs to be applauded all around.

Crawford got over 2-3 million because Top Rank guarantees him a certain amount no matter who he fights. He could probably fight Charlie Zelenoff or KSI and still make over $2million.

So people on NSB need to choose what matters:
Fighter A's making bank (go to Top Rank),

Fighter A's fighting the best (go to PBC) OR,

in the case of Danny Garcia/Keith Thurman/Errol Spence/Manny Pacquiao/Shawn Porter, the best are fighting the best and getting paid fair (PBC)?

You need to choose ONE. And if you choose the PBC route, you acknowledge that the ONLY reason Crawford would have resigned with Top Rank is to duck the PBC best. Period.

I'm surprised they're earning the same amount, I thought Spence would be paid more than Porter.

Securing a more favorable financial deal with the promoter who helped build your career and fighting the best fighters from a different stable aren't mutually exclusive. There is no duck by Crawford. It's the other side which has come up with countless excuses to avoid fighting Crawford. First it's 'he's on the wrong side of the street', then it's 'Spence should be the A-side', then it's 'Arum said mean things about Haymon', and then 'ESPN didn't give Crawford enough airtime during an NFL game', 'Crawford isn't well known outside Omaha', 'the timing isn't right yet', 'the fight will make more money later', 'Spence will fight him after he begs Pacquiao for a fight and finally gets it'. It's ironic that Top Rank gets accused of marinating fights to death and PBC is clearly the ones preventing this fight from happening.
