Mayweather age 28-31
Apr 8/06 – W (Judah) – $5,000,000
Nov 4/06 – W (Baldomir) – $8,000,000
May 5/07 – W (De La Hoya) – $25,000,000
Dec 8/07 – W (Hatton) – $38,000,000
1. Arturo Gatti (6/05) 369,000 buys = $16.6 million
2. Zab Judah (4/06) 378,000 buys = $17.0 million
3. Carlos Baldomir (11/06) 325,000 buys = $16.2 million
How the hell is Spence where Mayweather was when he fought Baldomir when he's making literally a QTR of Floyd's guarantee? This fight won't even do 325k PPV buys at that.
I'm sure he'll make a few more dollars with sponsors but the whole point is this. Spence needs to stop going around claiming he's the cash cow and who can't sell tickets when he's earning the same thing Porter is getting and his guaranteed purses are even less than Crawford.
The only how Spence can ascend to the next level is by beating Crawford or Canelo. period.
All three of your listed PPVs would then have Floyd splitting $8m-$9m with his opponent (plus whatever his share was of the gate and sponsors).
Errol Spence Jr was said to have ended up with $8m+ for the Mikey Garcia fight (his listed guarantee was only $3m, but that's why you look to own your own show).
Floyd went as far as he could go, moving from a good fighter to a million dollar fighter, all they way up into being a $5m fighter, and Bob Arum told him that that was it. Floyd thought otherwise, bought himself out of his deal, went to $8m, and then used the heat from Oscar De La Hoya and a well-placed persona change to triple even that.
Errol Spence is at $8m now, will likely top $8m on this Porter fight in the end, and then, in a similar way to Floyd's story, will be looking at a fight with Manny Pacquiao that can likely double that for him for that fight and going forward, while Crawford takes another fight for $3m.
Don't fool yourself here; Crawford doesn't move the needle, and as much as shot as it was, it's not really all that wrong to argue that Fury (until he gets washed out by Wilder this time), Lomachenko, and Ramirez are higher on the ESPN pecking order than Crawford is because that looks to be the truth.
For you to think that beating Crawford, a fighter with no real notable wins since Gamboa at 135lbs, is going to be some launching pad at 147lbs is laughable.

In a situation where he's getting a full camp, no shenanigans in the negotiations, and a truly neutral field to play his craft in.
I'd bet Ortiz is doing just fine
and it doesn matter because wilders guarantee will probably be 10-15 million so they will never be able to get enough points towards ppv back end. you think wilder is going to take a 2 million guarantee and hope for ppv points? nope. he knows its going to bomb and wants al the money up front. smarter than he sounds and looks.

If i had to estimate i would say they will get around 2.5 mil and if they get part of the gate than 3 mil. If ppv does great like 300k or more than 3.5-4mil with gate.Last edited by rocktop; 09-27-2019, 09:00 PM.

So it makes sense why Crawford is with Top Rank and why Canelo is with Golden Boy. These guys actually pay thier top guys big money.
