Tough spot on one end Derrick James crossed the line by speaking on a relationship that’s between a father and son but on the other end is James really wrong or just telling his opinion from his POV?

Kenny has talked a lot about personal stuff about Errol! James said Kenny lied about a lot so maybe it’s just gamesmanship and if so then James and Team Spence has won one battle already?

anyways I expect a good fight early with Porter winning early rounds and Spence starts taking countering him an taking control more as the fight progresses then gets a corner stoppage by round 11!

I like Derrick James and I respect his opinion. But in my personal opinion, he crossed the line by making those statements to the media. The Porters understand their relationship and it has made them successful, period! Kenny knows his son inside and out and has his best interest at hand. He has put him in a great financial situation, has helped him have a successful amateur career, and has helped him become a 2 time world champion. And if you listen to Shawn, he wouldn’t have it any different. Kenny gets the best out of Shawn, so that’s all that matters. I don’t blame Kenny for stepping to him. Stay out of a father and son’s relationship.

Excellent post. People talk about the Porter's like they know them personally. Just look at this thread. Shawn Porter is a B-level talent that can compete at the highest level, because of the discipline his father has instilled in him. Kenny Porter turned his son into a millionaire. Kenny Porter raised one of the classiest, most respectful men in boxing.

Look at the state of black america. Look at Chicago, Baltimore, St. Louis...There's A LOT of black men who could use a Kenny Porter in their life. And people have the nerve to act like the world needs less Kenny Porter's? Let's look at the big picture before telling someone they need to step back.

Ain't got nothing to do with their fight. Talking about him calling out KP at their PC about riding his kid's coattails & taking advantage of Shawn like he works for him just bc that's his son. The trainer works for the fighter, not the other way around. As it's portrayed when seen, it looks like Shawn getting pimped out by his old man imo. As much as he shouldn't have gone that far, DJ ain't lying. AB was just one of the first people to put it out there & it sure looks that way. & for the record: No trainer in the world could fix AB. He listens to nobody so it doesn't matter who is in his corner. It's an internal issue with him.
