For what it is worth I live in Baltimore...Probably a few miles or so where Tank is from, though I am a White boy lol.Rexy...youre a good dude and I usually respect your opinion
but im sorry...selling out in your hometown at age 24 says something....bud couldnt do it...how many guys can do it in america? not many...and certainly many couldnt do it at that juncture in their careers.....could spence? could wilder? could bud? NOPE!
i dont care who bought the floyd ppv...he was the co main event/main support(two terms meaning the same thing and you said as much) for a ppv that did 2 mil ppvs.....alot of people saw him...thats called exposure.....which for a kid at 24 hes had alot of....that means something
and gamboa is a bigger name than farmer....hes going after a bigger name to further his exposure...people know the name gamboa even outside of hardcores....hes been on tv....nobody who isnt a hardcore knows farmer man and you know this
hes 24...he has time to build a resume and get good fights.....what were spence/bud fighting at age 24? golovkin didnt take a meaningful fight till 34.....what are most guys doing at 24? fighting scrubs or guys in headgear? YUP!
Tank has some real problems and I am not blaming him by any means. Baltimore is a very dangerous place to try to rep as your hometown. People get killed all the time, people who have been successful and made it. There is a mentality that makes the scalp of a success generate great street cred and many local talents have been killed here for no other reason.
I would say that with Ward and Oakland it was totally different. Hanging out in Oakland and repping the local talent never seemed to put Ward in danger. But Tank would do well to distance himself from Baltimore and people like Broner who go to strip clubs regularly as young men.
I mean a young handsome succesful guy like Tank should be able to go to a regular social situation and meet girls, strip clubs? And Broner is a horrendous person to lace up a young fighter.
I worry about Tank and hope it works out for him. If I was his friend I would try to get him to Vegas and to fight regularly, fight fight and fight, learn the craft, heck lose the goose egg! challenge the best, get all the experience you can. This would ensure that when he gets into his best years and twilight years, he could make a run at being an ATG.Comment

I agree. Unfortunately Floyd is geared towards the money. If Tank wants to be great he should look at Derrick Chisora. No, Derrick is not a great talent but if you look at who chisora has fought... And it is because his goal is/was and always has been "to fight". As a matter of fact, I bet Chisora gets a few more cracks at a championship.Curt has a lot of good points and facts. I really never thought much about all his accomplishments in this way.
Despite his age, though, Davis is a boxing vet, who is more at the end of his career than beginning. He needs to clean out the 135 division ASAP. Time is now.
I see a young, fierce lion who's being held back by Floyd, so he wouldn't supersede him. I don't have a single doubt that Davis can beat all the lightweights, including Loma, some quick and easy. I don't even count Commey, Crolla, or Campbell, or anyone that caliber. Commey wouldn't last more than 3 rounds with Davis.
I think Floyd is a mad, egomaniac narcissist, who gives zero shit about his best boxer/fighter. It's all about Floyd. Fuck off, Floyd.
Tank is just another young fighter being fit into a program that is not in the interests of creating great fighters, but big earners.Comment

being around with broner is just plain dumb and i know how dangerous baltimore really is....and how he should distance himself from it as much as possible.....agree totally...unfortunately strip club culture is part of "the culture"....it doesn next to nothing for me....but black athletes and celebs love it...i think its ****** but thats themComment
