  • Comments Thread For: Crawford: I Give Porter Good Chance Against Spence

LAS VEGAS Terence Crawford will be out of the country Saturday, celebrating his 32nd birthday. The WBO welterweight champion still will pay close attention to the Errol Spence Jr.-Shawn Porter fight. Unlike oddsmakers and countless others, Crawford isn't the least bit dismissive of Porter's opportunity to pull off an upset in their welterweight title unification fight at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Porter size and style play right into a rangy puncher like Spence. Porter only makes fights ugly when his opponents have slow feet. Spence jab is going to set up that straight hand, right hook combo all night. This really is a smoke in mirrors fight. But at least its a unification.

    Spence by TKO
    Benavidez by RTD
    Josesito by UD

Barrios vs Akhmedov is the only fight on the card I am predicting to be competitive.

This is the problem, Crawford is content making money and not fighting anybody, his side has zero leverage at 147 pounds, it would be extremely difficult for Crawford to get 40% from Manny OR Spence.

Crawford is a wonderful fighter who has not fought anyone and has nobody in his stable to fight, his career is going to be defined by Arum's inability to elevate his career, he needs to pull a Floyd, an oscar, just leave, don't sign any more extensions!

That would be a great way to start next year if after Porter vs Spence, Pac and Crawford could for square off and the winner of the two matches for the summer of 2020.

Arum is A joke. He is always using A Haymon name to disparage him blaming AH for fights not being done and the puts TC in with a fighter no one's heard of. TC is ur boss PUT THE BIGGEST FIGHT ON....

Oh man, sadly I agree with you 100%. Dirrell is going to get beat up... good call on the corner stopping the fight. That would be a classic Dirrell finish.

Spence is either going to stop Porter, or Porter is going to get on his bicycle in the late rounds and try to "box" Spence in order to finish the fight on his feet (similar to Mikey Garcia).

The Lopez-Molina fight... Molina is old, slow, and... who cares. Josesito wins by KO or corner stoppage. He's too tough and quick to get put down by Molina.

I like sleeping, and this card isn't even worth staying up for, much less paying $75 to stay up and watch it.

And spence is contented on his side of the street as well... i haven’t heard for once from spence that he actually wants the fight now... not even when crawford talked to him face to face..
For the fight to happen two sides must push for it.. not the “he’s on the other side of the street” BS EXCUSE

Arum helped oscar and floyd become superstars.. yes they elevated their names when they left but that’s because Oscar was just naturally charismastic, entertaining in the ring and good looking for the masses.. while Floyd simply just had the personality to be a good villain..

Crawford just have neither of those attributes to become a star.

Arum had no problem making pac a superstar because he just had the style and story to be one.

Crawford wouldn’t speculate as to whether he thinks that’ll actually happen.

“I can’t guess,” Crawford said. “I would’ve guessed that I would’ve fought Pacquiao two years ago and I didn’t. So, you’ve just gotta let things happen the way they’re gonna happen. Either it is, or it ain’t. Those things is out of my hands and out of my reach. I just sit back and focus on the things that’s in front of me right now, and that’s it.”

I wish someone would ask Crawford his feelings on the fact that his promoter, Bob Arum, publicly stated that he "killed" the Pacquiao fight! Imagine if Eddie Hearn publicly stated that he "killed" Joshua vs. Wilder or Andrade vs. Canelo! Imagine Lou Dibella saying I "killed" Tank vs. Farmer! Some fighters are very talented, and wait their whole lives for an opportunity to fight a legend like Pacquiao, and then for your own promoter to say he "killed" that opportunity for you, you would have to feel some type of way!
