I don't think he was ever injured, they probably sure what happened with Joshua and they thought they need to be more careful with the matchmaking. Takam is a tough HW who has nothing to lose, it would have been a baptism of fire on Usyk first fight. Its better to be safe than sorry, looking back now when Joshua/Miller fell through, that was the perfect excuse for Joshua to fight a lesser threat and give him a little break but nope, he got thrown in with someone who had nothing to lose, quick hands, shorter etc So i think they learnt from that for Usyk.

In the Bellew fight, it had more to do with Bellew being gassed than Usyk's power. Naturally, Bellew fights on the back foot. But against Usyk, he put on weight and went in head hunting, trying to get Usyk out of there in the first 6 rds. He'd hit Usyk clean a few times but ended up gassing out and Usyk capitalised on that. Also, Bellew has never been a good boxer even in his prime and he was past his prime in that fight. But if a natural HW had hit Usyk cleanly the way Bellew did - I doubt Usyk would've come out of the ring smiling.

1. Bellew does not "naturally fight on the back foot" His usual style and approach is to come out, take the centre of the ring, then march forward behind the jab looking for his opponent if they don't come looking for him.

2. Bellew did not put on weight for Usyk, He moved up to cruiserweight 6 years ago after getting stopped by Stevenson and fought 8 times at 200lb, including winning and defending the WBC CW title.

He then moved up to HW to fight Haye twice, before losing 30lb and coming back down to CW for Usyk.

How could any real UK boxing fan not know that about Tony Bellew?
