Wait a year? I don't even know if that fight will be interesting in that time. Who knows what Corrales' body will have gone through in that time? Diaz may be young but he's beaten a fair share of top contenders and title holders, all of them convincingly. I think Diaz should secure a fight with Corrales immediately after he takes on someone like Jorge Barrios or Jesus Chavez in his next fight. If he can beat one those guys then I know he is ready.

I think Corrales will win a close SD because of all the wars he has been in. I also think Corrales will get knock down early in the fight from a lucky acurrate punch.

Sure but beating Barrios would be his toughest test yet. If he beats Barrio I will KNOW he is ready. If he beats Jesus Chavez I will think he is ready, but I don't think that Chavez is a significant step up from Lakva Sim although maybe a little better.

          Its simple lightweight...

If you are a part of Team Diaz you do what is best for your fighter and waiting on Chico a bit is what is best for your fighter period.

Well I don't disagree with that at all. But they should listen to me, because I'm SOMEBODY damnit.

            I'm somebody.

I believe Casamayor is past his prime, but if he was younger, he would definately give Corrales all he could handle.

Corrales will look like damaged goods believe you me. I have Casa taking a UD in this one.

both are damaged goods but corrales has been handing so many beatings. As for Casamayor, the reason he has looked a little **** lately is because of the opponents...i dont care what anybody says but when you are fighting unknowns like Kid Diamond (at the time) and his last fight Pearson you are not going to be up for that fight and train and fight to your potential.

                      Corrales picked the wrong opponent?

Nopes definitely not. This is a rubber match so it will conclude a trilogy that started long time ago. Of course Diego could have opted to fight Diaz or somebody else but it's a lot better that he clears out the cloud of doubt of his past so that he can go on with his career without leaving any stone unturned.

Props to Diego for taking on a dangerous fight.
