bad year for top rank. really bad.
Has there ever been a good fight on ESPN since they signed Top Rank?

Compared to DAZN, ESPN + sucks even with the addition of BT Sports. What happened to their roster of fighters? They have perhaps the smallest and weakest stable of fighters in the world.
Which is why Top Rank is so eager to work with Al Haymon because he needs Al. Al holds all the cards and hens in the chicken coup. Bob Arum needs Deontay Wilder and Erroll Spence, Jr. To make certain matchups for his fighters to happen.
ESPN + is in dire straits at the moment. Right now DAZN is threatening to put all of ESPN + boxing content on their platform out of business.Comment

ESPN and Top Rank are doing their jobs perfectly, in my opinion. They're doing what all platforms need to do (or continue doing) and that's reach out to CASUAL fans, not just nutthurt whining "hardcore" fans amongst us (op included).
They're had fighters fight through cuts (Fury/Wallin), fighters fight with broken jaws (Valdez), crazy KOs, and sadly...a fighter lost his life on air (Dadashev).
I mean this in the sincerest way, but ESPN is reaching more casual fans than I can last remember. I truly miss the Friday Night Fights days, but this even better TV than I can ask of ESPN.
They're giving the fans what they want (blood, guts, wars) and you're getting even better commentating from the likes of Ward and Bradley to balance out the Tessitores and Kreigels of the world.Comment

Crawford vs Benavidez had bad blood, featured a barrel roll, and was the highest viewed fight of that year.Comment
